Danica aka Winnie appeared on Tavis Smiley show last night. She was discussing her new book "Math Doesn't Suck". She was looking very beautiful - as usual - and talked abt, what else, math. Here is a minute of that interview:

Thanks Irene - now here is a REAL role model for young girls, unlike Lindsay, Paris, Britney, Nicole (puke:). Danica not only was a child star who became a well-adjusted adult, she is doing something positive to help kids learn. Good for her!! :clap

I just saw Ohio8's photo of her book, and two apparent features that seem to have nothing to do with math are posted there; 1)Horoscope, and 2)"Do you still have a crush on him?" Is she suggesting that there's supposed to be some mathematical formula for each of these subjects? Because I'm still going to blow off the idea of the stars determining the outcome of my day no matter what.

On August 12 I happened to catch an interview with her and, I think, Charles Gibson on radio station KOMO 1000 in Seattle. (Sure, it's a long way from Dayton, but I was on vacation at the time.) I knew when they introduced the guest as a child actress turned math whiz, I knew it was no other than Danica McKellar. :cool:

Oh yes, you can say that again. Danica certainly is a great role model. She has the smarts, the integrity, the desires and a good head on her shoulders to know what will really get her through in life. Not a free ride on daddy's money, not partying til 4 a.m., not drinking and doing drugs, not wearing the most fashionable clothes...DANICA HAS BRAINS and is proud of it.
