OMG, talk abt over-the-top drama!!!!!!! Does anyone else hate how Sondra made such a big fuss over the kids being taken by their grandmothers????

For someone who was sick, she could sure move around like tiger out for a hunt.

And seeing Elvin be such a wimp that he couldn't control the situation. This ranks up there as one of the worst episodes, in my opinion. It may not be a bad episode to you, but it is on my s**t list. :smash:

That was a funny episode, but what kind of medication was she on? I think it would have been better for the babies to be with their grandmothers. I'm pretty sure germs can bypass a facial mask.

When I first saw that episode I thought that Clair was going to let Sondra have it. That was out of character for her. Being grown or not I thought that Clair would never let one of her children talk to her in that manner or tone of voice.

This is the one and only episode I found Sondra interesting. I thought this ep was pretty funny!

Didn't Sondra and her husband name the kids after the Mandelas? I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

I loved that episode because it was about the only one where Clair was treated like that.

It was over the top at many levels:

The way Sondra carried on over it was too out there but it was funny.
Cliff taking a backseat on this and not telling Clair that call Sondra first to see if this was OK or if she need help with anything. That was she should had done instead of pushing her and Elvin's mom pushing their way on Sondra when she was down.
Elvin, again look at how the men on the show was portrayed, like any typical episode involving any of the Huxtable men cannot control their homelife and the behavior that is there.
Clair not having anything to say back to Sondra was rare just alone Clair looking dumbfounded was great.

I don't mind Claire being put in her place, however, this was not a situation that called for it. JMHO. There were plenty of moments that could have been done, but not this.

Sondra needed a straitjacket.

When I am feeling sick, I wouldn't mind someone taking my son so I could be left alone.

Of course Sondra overreated, but that's why it as funny. Usually, we see Sondra being the most sensible of the 5 kids. In this episode, we saw a whole different side of her.

Wasn't it hilarious when we first saw her enter the house? She had that mask on, and her hair was all messed up. Just hilarious!

Yeah, the girl was named Winnie, and the boy was named Nelson. Many people think that it was silly to name the kids after them, and I think I have to agree.

Especially since the Mandelas have since split up. So in hindsight it is kind of silly.

Yeah, it sure is. But about this episode, I kind of understand Sondra though. But it's weird, that she complains at the twins, when she's well, but when she's sick, she suddenly doesn't even want help with them...

It was cool. I loved it because it was so out of character for Sondra....and it was truly hilarious.

At the time that episode aired, Mandela was close to being freed from prison. Soon after apartheid would fall. I've always thought they named the children Nelson and Winnie to signify love and freedom.

That was another one of the inconsistencies in the show.

Sondra was becoming like her mother: A control freak, who always needed to bitch at other people.

That's what happens when you have a mother like Claire.

Oh yeah. Except I think Sondra will be even worse than Claire. Because she's the only one, who's been able to shut Claire up.

I got to admit, they sure made me laugh during the 80's, but it sure is fun as hell to make fun and nitpick at their antics.
