Maybe its just too personal to get into but when Jonathan left the show in Season 8, i believe they were rumors (which are still going on) that he left because of college AND "complications" between him and Tim Allen. Anyone heard or know about this?

I have heard that, also. I don't know the details or what went on. I think if it is true, that it is a shame. To me, it took away from the show some when he left. I also wish that if he felt he had to leave, that he would have at least come back for the series finale.

I think the thing that upset Tim was that Jonathan said he wanted to focus on his college education, but ended up doing some movies after he left the show. When he came back for the episode "Home For The Holidays," everyone else had moved on together without him so it was kind of awkward. Tim loved him like a son, but I think he was just upset because he left the show under circumstances that were not the best.

That's precisely what happened- he left the show to concentrate on college and spent a ton of time making movies.

I still don't think there's any complications between the 2 today.

I've recently heard rumors that JTT (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=310046) was/is "mentally ill (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001795/board/flat/221988443?p=1)" (more specifically, he apparently suffers from Narcissistic Sociopath Disorder (http://tvline.com/2013/03/16/last-man-standing-season-2-spoilers-video-jonathan-taylor-thomas-home-improvement-reunion/#comment-list-wrapper)) and the whole college story was just a smokescreen.

Whatever happened I believe they have made up since the show ended. I come to this conclusion because JTT has been a guest on Tim's new show twice. If they were still mad at one another they would never had done that.

Zachery Ty Bryan I bet might show up on The Last Man Standing someday as I know he's still acting and I've seen him on a few movies here and there on TV. I don't think Taran Noah Smith will though as the last I heard he'd quit acting and has no interest in doing it anymore, but I've also heard his life hasn't been the greatest either since Home Improvement ended.

P.S. I used to be so crazy about that kid. Then I grew up and saw how alike him and I are not.

I still wish JTT didn't leave HI like he did and turn his back, I feel he's like McLean Stevenson of our generation. Leaving a show then losing his stardom.

^^^ I agree even if he left for an understandable reason. The show was getting ready to wrap up any way, so to me, sticking around until it was done wouldn't have been asking all that much.
