I know that M&M and L&S were spinoffs of Happy Days but I just found it funny that all 3 shows are being released as a GROUP. I know HD fans would prefer Season 3, 4, and 5 instead of the Spinoffs.

I don't see the difference with them all being released on the same day. It's really a good thing if you liked all 3 shows.

Well maybe Sony should do that with All in the Family, Muade, and the Jeffersons-lol

i think its a BAD thing if you like all three shows, because it means that most people will have to choose because they can't afford to buy all three on the same day

I bought all 3 shows last time they came out on the same day, and my exact total was $95.36. I'm looking at my receipt right now. It was a lot of money, but it's worth it if I have all these episode to watch day in and day out. Although, i can see you're point. It is a bad thing for people ona budget. Too bad Sony doesn't do that. Not only could they get their shows of their shoulders, we the buyers would be happier. If Sony did that, we'd already be done with The Jeffersons and All in the Family.

I would assume that CBS/Paramount is trying to save money by promoting them together, so they can run 1 ad for all three of them together instead of seperate campaigns.

...the only problem with THAT theory is that CBS doesn't HAVE any promotional campaigns to try and sell any of these shows.

BTW, I see that they are considering adding a special feature "EXTRA" to the sets called "SALES PROMOTION" - i guess it is ads for other CBS Home Video releases.

not much of a "special feature" if you ask me...

Yep, you're all right on the money. Just more ways to make more money... quicker.

They should really be released separately about every 3 months. I'm sure it hurt the season 1 sales when they were released closely together, but maybe it was less of a factor for season 2. Maybe they could have a separate bundle of all 3 series together for a discount.

One of my local Wal-Mart stores had Happy Days S2 and Laverne & Shirley S2 for $19.99 each on their first week of release. Mork and Mindy S2 was $29.99 for some reason... Laverne & Shirley was the one I wanted the most, so, of course, it was already sold out. :-/

Laverne & Shirley is the only one I'm interested in. Growing up, I never watched Happy Days or Mork & Mindy. So, for me, I'm just going to buy Laverne & Shirley. Maybe they are releasing them altogether for cross-promotion purposes. Some people might want to buy all of them but I think there is also a crowd out there for each show.
