I just heard about it now. I remember coming home from school and watching his talk show. He will truly be missed.

How sad. He was such a nice and personable man. His talk show reminds me of my younger years. With all of his shows, he brought so much joy and laughter to so many. Merv Griffin has left quite a legacy, and he'll never be forgotten.

I believe they should, especially with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, back to back. Now, if GSN can pull up an old telecast of the original Price is Right with Merv Griffin substituting for vacationing host Bill Cullen, they should include that in his tribute. Merv may have left us, today, but his game shows will play for many years to come.

I was saddened to hear this. :( Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were amongst the first shows I've ever watched in my life. He brought so much joy to others by living out an amazing career. May he rest in peace. :rip: :heart:

Merv Griffin will always be remembered as the man who created two of the best game shows of all-time Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He also created lesser-known shows such as Let's Play Post Office and Joe Garagiola's Memory Game. This season also marks the debut of his new Crosswords game show. I have a hunch it will be a hit. But let's not forget that Merv also hosted Play Your Hunch before launching his successful talk show. Somewhere in heaven, a male contestant is telling him "I'll go along with the Missus, Merv."

I had respect for him until I found out he was instrumental in the career of Ryan Seacrest. I am sorry, but Seacrest is nothing more than an over-hyped no-talent dud. Merv should have been a better judge of talent than that.
