Well I hope you like this one-
Don’t Leave Me
Tootie is in the girls’ bedroom. The door is slightly open, but only a crack. Jo walks to the door. She’s about to knock when she hears Tootie talking.
Tootie: Oh my best friend. How could this happen? What will I do without her? What’s going to happen after she’s gone? I’ll be all alone. She can’t die. (Tootie starts crying)
We see that Jo is shocked. She turns to go downstairs. Jo sees Blair sitting on the couch.
Jo (whispering): Blair?
Blair (whispers): What?
Jo: Come upstairs with me.
Blair: Ok but why are we whispering?
Jo: Come on, I want you to hear something.
They go upstairs and stand outside the door. Blair is about to push open the door but Jo catches her hand before it hits the door.
Blair: What are you doing?
Jo: Shhh. Listen.
Tootie: I realize that death is the absolute worst possibility and it may not come true. But just the thought that my best friend could go scares me. Ok well making things easier on her will lower the chances, so we should try to do everything we can to limit the amount of stuff she does.
Blair covers her mouth with her hand. She looks like she could cry. They go back downstairs.
Blair: Natalie- dying. What are we going to do?
Jo: I don’t know. This is horrible- we can’t let this happen. Well you heard Tootie- she might not die. If we just make everything easier on her then she’ll be fine.
Blair: Ok.
Nat comes in the door holding a bunch of books. Jo runs up to her.
Jo: Here Nat. Let me take these from you.
Natalie’s a little confused but willing. Jo takes Nat’s books then Blair goes up to Nat.
Blair: Here- let me help you get your coat off. Here come sit down on the couch.
Blair leads Natalie to the couch. Nat sits down.
Blair: How’s some cookies sound? Would you like milk? Or would you prefer something warm? Coffee? Tea?
Nat: I can get it.
Nat goes to stand up but Blair pushes her back down.
Blair: Nonsense- I’ll get it. What would you like?
Nat: Umm- I guess some cookies with a glass of milk sounds good. Your sure you want to get it for me?
Blair: Of course. Come on Jo.
Blair and Jo go into the kitchen.
Blair: She’s being so strong. I’m impressed. I wonder how long she has until...
Jo: Don’t say it Blair. She’ll be fine. We’ll just have to take her shift in the store and take care of her.
Blair and Jo come back with a plate of cookies and a glass of milk.
Blair: Here you are Nat. How’s that? Is the heat up too high? Or are you cold? Do you need anything else?
Nat: No thanks Blair. I’m fine. But in a few minutes I’ll have to get ready to work in the kitchen.
Blair: Oh Jo and I’ll do your work for you. You just relax and don’t get too stressed out.
Later in the kitchen.
Tootie: So where’s Natalie.
Mrs G: I was just wondering the same thing.
Jo: Oh she’s relaxing. Blair and I are covering for her. She needed a little time to unwind. But Tootie you already know Nat needed to take a little time off.
Tootie: I did?
Blair: Sure you did.
Tootie (a little confused): Oh ok.
Blair and Jo look at each other wondering why Tootie has no idea what they are talking about. But they decide to shrug it off.
The next morning.
We see Jo making Natalie’s bed. However its really lumpy and messy when she’s done.
Blair: Jo the beds kinda lumpy isn’t it?
As soon as Blair asks that Natalie (who was in the bed) sits up and is out of breath.
Nat (still out of breath): I just had the strangest dream that my pillows were smothering me.
Blair, concerned about her breathing, runs over.
Blair: Nat? Are you ok? Your breathing a little hard.
Nat: Well someone made my bed with me in it. You try breathing with all that stuff tucked over your head.
Blair: Hey Jo next time you make Nat’s bed- MAKE SURE SHE’S OUT OF IT FIRST!
Jo: Details, details, details.
Blair walks over to Jo.
Blair (whispers): Do you want to be helping Nat or hurrying what might be the inevitable?
Jo http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gifwhispers) Alright- sorry. (to Nat) Sorry Nat.
Natalie: Its ok Jo. You know you don’t have to do all this for me though.
Blair: Yes we do. Your our friend and we really care about you.
After school.
Blair and Jo walk into the girls room. Nat is sitting at the desk doing homework.
Blair: What do you think your doing?
Nat: I believe its called homework.
Blair: Don’t put your brain under so much stress. Jo will do your homework for you.
Jo has a shocked expression on her face. :O
Jo: Why am I going to do that? I’ve been doing Nat’s share of housework and more of her kitchen work than you!
Blair: Well I’ve broken two nails trying to handle more than my share of kitchen duty.
Jo: Oooooh.
Blair: Plus I’m more under more pressure to look good compared to (gives a “look” at Jo) others.
Jo: (a little sarcastic) Well I’m sorry. I can’t do her I can’t do her housework, kitchen work, and homework and still get mine done too!
Blair (desperate): But Jo- you want to help Nat right? You don’t want her to (spells) d-i-e do you?
Nat: Blair it may seem amazing to you but I CAN spell. And I’m not dying. So that’s why you’ve been doing all my stuff? (Laughs) I thought you were just being nice.
Jo (really ticked off): A doctor may not have diagnosed you- but I will. Time left to live- a few minutes.
Jo chases Natalie around the couch.
Blair: Wait a minute. If Natalie’s not dying then who is?
Nat: That’s a good question.
Jo: Well we heard this from Tootie- lets see what’s going on.
They go upstairs. Like yesterday they hear Tootie crying. Jo Blair and Nat walk in. Tootie is on her knees on the ground. She is over a stuffed dummy.
Tootie: Your my best friend. Don’t leave me.
Jo: Your best friend is a dummy?
Natalie hits Jo in the arm.
Tootie: No my best friend is no dummy- usually. (Smiles)
Nat sort of goes after Tootie but knows she’s kidding so doesn’t actually do anything.
Blair: Tootie- who’s dying?
Tootie: I don’t know what your talking about.
Jo: Spill it Tootie- we heard ya talkin through the door yesterday.
Tootie starts laughing.
Tootie: I’m the one who always gets in trouble for eavesdropping. And you guys heard...(laughs) and thought that...(laughing).
Jo: I don’t see anything funny about this.
Tootie picks up a script.
Tootie: See I’m in the school play. In the play my best friend dies. I’m just rehearsing my lines with the dummy now. So was I good?
Jo (sarcastic): No- not at all. Didn’t have me fooled- very unconvincing!
Everyone laughs.
Nat: Well lets all go out for ice cream- my treat. I owe you all. Jo and Blair for doing all my stuff for the past two days and Tootie for getting them to do it without knowing it.
They all walk out the door laughing.

Tootie: Can we sing?
Jo: Sing?
Tootie: That's what I do when I'm scared what do you do?
Jo: Slap people
Blair: A Warner is like a delicate soufle
Jo: Yeah light and empty
Nat: I'd rather be a happy magic marker than a skinny pencil
Blair: (Cliff's parents) live on a farm.
Tootie: A farm?
Jo: As in e-i-e-i-o?
Jo: Which one's the pig?
Tootie: That's predictable Jo, insulting Blair.
Jo: I wasn't insulting Blair, I
All: was insulting the pig!
