-STEFFY- 08-11-2007, 01:21 PM Britney Spears doing "Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones. LOL!

Ohio8 08-11-2007, 02:37 PM Aerosmith's cover of "Come Together" by The Beatles.
Zoneboy 08-11-2007, 03:30 PM tiffany's i think we're alone now
That's actually a cover also, Tommy James and the Shondells did the original.

Zoneboy 08-11-2007, 03:55 PM Linda Ronstadt's remakes of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou",her remake of The Everly Brothers'"When Will I Be Loved"
Anything remade by Linda Ronstadt I can do without, Here's a list of songs she's covered during her career:

Mikado 08-11-2007, 04:14 PM I thought Linda Ronstadt did a pretty good job on her remakes of Buddy Holly's That'll be the Day and Its so easy, and believe me, I dont take Buddy remakes lightly.
Mikado 08-11-2007, 04:16 PM That's actually a cover also, Tommy James and the Shondells did the original.
Yup....and I never cared much for the original , either!
Mikado 08-11-2007, 04:37 PM Remakes I dont like :thumbsdow:
The Rolling Stones doing Buddy Holly's Not fade away
The Kingsmen destroyed Richard Berry's Louie Louie (Though ironically, it was the Kingsmen that had the HIT version)
Johnny Rivers made a career of covering/ruining Chuck Berry songs such as Memphis, Maybelline and Brown-eyed Handsome man amongst others.
ANY remake by Ann Murray ( Yes I'm Canadian, but, I cant STAND her voice )
incl the Monkees Daydream Believer and The Beatles Lady Madonna
catlover79 08-12-2007, 03:20 AM I actually liked Linda Ronstadt's version of Blue Bayou better than the Roy Orbison original (and I like Roy Orbison's music a lot!). I knew she did a lot of cover versions, but I didn't realize she'd done THAT many.
My vote goes to the 1981 Andy Gibb/Victoria Principal version of the Everly Brothers' "All I Have to Do is Dream". The Everlys' original is so beautiful, and the 1981 cover is bland and cringe-worthy. No offense to Andy because I liked his other music quite a bit. As for Victoria, she thankfully didn't give up her day job.

Yes it is. And it was HORRIBLE. God, I don't even like Tommy's version, but Tiffany's is the WORST!
Ireneparalegal 08-12-2007, 08:49 PM Yup....and I never cared much for the original , either!
I'm with you on that one Mikey. God, I hate that song no matter who sings it!!!!! :puke:
I love Linda Ronstadt's versions of Buddy Holly songs. Again, we agree Mikey. I don't like when someone covers Buddy Holly, but Linda actually did a great job and made them her own. Kudos to Linda.
I also love her versions of these songs WAY BETTER than the originals:
OOH BABY BABY
BLUE BAYOU
YOU'RE NO GOOD
Those are awesome songs that I would rather hear Linda sing than the original singers.
ABlairican Pie 08-14-2007, 09:09 AM The cover of Dio's "Holy Diver" by Killswitch Engage. They made the song sound so average and predictable, with the usual pathetic metalcore trappings. They changed the song entirely in many parts, superfast tempos where they shouldn't belong, ripping off Zakk Wylde-style pinch harmonics, and the video is extremely cornball. They robbed the song of its sense of danger and mystery. Metalcore must die, and I would like to be the guy to kill it. :smash:
BOYCOTT FALSE METAL. GET YOUR DAILY IRON DOSE, EAT REAL METAL.

I agree. In fact, I like ALL of Linda Ronstadt's remakes--but then Linda is
my favorite female vocalist of all time so I am admittedly biased.
Coffee Girl 08-28-2007, 05:11 AM The Girls Aloud version of "I Think We're Alone Now" was horrible. I hate that band anyway, though. No talent, no personality, boring image. Blegh.
