View Full Version : The best camera shot I've seen...
Jinxey 08-10-2007, 12:05 PM is in the sixth season episode Louise Takes A Stand around 13:23, where George and Louise drag poor Lionel into their arguement. It is one of the longest (almost a minute) and one of the most non-conventional shots I've ever seen on the show.

I just watched that episode after I read this post, and I don't get what's so unconventional about it either.

Correct me if I'm wrong....
The three camera system has one camera in the middle that takes wide shots, and two that are angled at about 45 degrees that handles close-ups right?
OK....I'm guessing the middle camera was used. What started out as a typical shot when Lionel was sitting on the desk moved close to the middle of the apartment, then it turned into a wide-angeled shot where you can see George and Wheezy on one side of the screen and Lionel (leaving the apartment) on the other side. I've never seen this before on the Jeffersons. Plus, this was the longest shot I've ever seen on the show.

you're exactly right about everything. I went back to that scene, and I know exactly what you're talking about. When watching that episode before, that isjust something I past up and didn't even bother to look at, but I believe that's the only scene ever to show the entire length of the apartment like that. Very interesting!

Another time this camera technique was used was during the fourth season episode Florence's Union, when Florence's friend walked into the kitchen (with Florence, Louise and another maid) to check on a burning roast duck (around 5:46)
One thing I forgot to mention about Louise Takes A Stand, this was George and Louise's only arguement (where they were BOTH YELLING) during the sixth season.

they had a arguement in the episodes The Longest Day,A long night to remember and The the first store,
i think Louise Takes A Stand was there last big arguement of the entire show.

In The Longest Day, Louise did most of the arguing, while George was picking up the mess he made. In A Long Night To Remember, Louise did most of the aruging and yelling, where George was somewhat passive because he knew he wasn't cheating on her. I have to see The First Store again.
In Louise Takes A Stand, they were going at each other, BOTH yelling and screaming and cutting each other off. I loved it.:D
USATVFAN 08-11-2007, 12:28 PM okay i get what u r saying now when they were both yelling at the same time.

They were always yelling, but I didn't know they were already cutting down on the arguments by the sixth season. I thought they started to do that later on. Anyways, I've always enjoyed the earlier seasons better, so it really doesn't matter much to me.

George didn't yell as much either...Wheezy yelled more.

You're right. She seemed to get really mean later on in the series.
hcollinsmith72 08-12-2007, 03:23 PM I don't think she became meaner, I just think she took more of a stand in the later eps
