I've noticed that, especially in the later episdoes, David often seems perturbed -- you know, kind of annoyed in general. Maybe it's just because Rick is the more mellow of the two brothers. I don't know, I get this vibe like he doesn't want to be there a lot of the time.

Maybe because of his occupation (lawyer). It can be a high pressure job and make someone tense.

I think it's great to see someone start a thread who hasn't posted a lot. I wished lots of people posted.

By that time he was in his eary 30's, so maybe just tired of doing the show in general. He always was the straight guy anyway, with Ricky being the funny one and less serious.

Yeah, I guess David's character was intened to be more serious -- and perhaps it was a necessary foil, a point of contrast, something to work against, amid all the other bland mellowness. You gotta have some sort of drama or problem to make a story I guess.

I always felt David delivered his lines very well. It was not easy with Rick getting all the press but he seemed fine with it.
