What reason do you think a song sucks?

I'd go with the horrible instruments/ rhythm/ beat/ off-singing.

Bad Singing! This seems to be the norm these days. Joy.

Terrible Rhymes. Not all songs have to rhyme, but when they try, and they rhyme two mismatched words together, it just sounds ********.

Stupid lyrics as a whole.

RAP...if you cant actually SING the words, then go be a poet, and stop recording CDs

Lack of originality, i.e., listening to the same ole', same ole'

I voted for that, too.
And I don't think I have to explain why. ;)

In Random Order

1. Young "Kids" singing about things they wouldn't remember- These are the teens/ people in their 20's singing about WoodStock, The Beatles, JFK, Martin Luther King, etc.................

2. Mismatched(or misrhymed) Lyrics- Lyrics that don't rhyme at all.

3. Horrible Instruments/beat/rhythm/off-singing)- Usually songs that have the singers singing with whiny voices, or the music itself sounds like pots and pans being banged on real hard.

4.Absurd Lyrics- Lyrics that don't make any sense.

5.Excessive Cursing-Usually rap songs where the song is basically F you, F you, F You, my Nig.

6.Older People singing like younger people- This is the type of song where people in their 40's are singing sexual songs like people in their 20's/teens do.

if the melody sucks it's all over. sometimes a catchy melody can save bad lyrics, but good lyrics usually can't save a song with a bad melody.

This may come as a shock to you JJ but, people in their 40s DO actually have sex, and have as much right to sing about it as anyone!

For me its a bad artist that writes poor lyrics a band with no musical culture/rhythm and a drummer thats like the drummer from the muppets.

I don't like to bad mouth people but, currently, there are quite a few recording artists who definitely should not have singing contracts. Singing off-key ruins a song. :(

The "noise" we hear today is everywhere, unfortunately.
Even in commericals.

What happened to real music in commericals like this?:

Yes, that one has a nice melody, too. No crashing and banging like you hear now.
I actually remember that commerical when it was on TV... maybe late '60s?
