I'm confuzzled. I've been watching this show on CMT for a while and a while ago I decided to order seasons one and two from the Amazon marketplace, but the theme song is different. It's shorter on TV and on TV you see them during the theme but on the DVD it's black and just shows the credits during the theme.

That's how the intro was on season 1 and 2.

It was changed in season 3 to show video of the charactors over the captions.

I believe the syndicated versions of the episodes features video of the characters over captions in season one and two. As BundyCheer mentioned, the DVDs show the original network version.

You will be in for a surprise when you get season 3 onwards. Season 3 DVD and onwards feature a replaced theme song due to Sony not clearing the rights to that song for the remaining seasons.

That new theme song makes watching the intro a chore :(

The modified theme is why I do not own the DVDs, if the original theme were intact, I would have the complete boxset proudly on display :D

You are right, editing some Season 4 episodes is just unforgivable.
