This episode was from the third season and I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD! There were a "lot" of things that went on in this episode that I thought were "priceless"! To start with, when Samantha was in a big frenzy about the distruction of the mission school, Katie and Julie happened to walk through the from door and we hear Julie say, "I can't 'believe' the height of your egotism! He was not whistling at you! He was calling his dog!

A few minutes later, we "really" get to see some of Katie's shallow and superficial behavior! When Samantha asks Nell and both of her sisters to accompany her to the sit-in, each female offers her a reason why she cannot make it. After Julie says that she already has charity events to go to that afternoon and evening, Katie say, "I'm sorry, but I have to do my nails!"

Later, at the rally, Katie sees the boy who she would have liked to think was whistling at her. While walking over to him to tell him how nice he looks, she manages to stick out her chest and jiggle her butt in hopes of getting his attention. When the leader commands the protesters to lock arms and sing, Katie talks herself into believing that she should grab both of the boy's arms with both of hers! In discust, Julie yanks one of Katie's arms away and wraps her arm around it. She puts her other arm around Nell's arm and says in regards to what Katie was doing, "that's discusting"!

My favoire part of this episode was at the very end. After all of the protesters were forgiven and it was aggreed that the site would not be torn down, Samantha was telling the other three femals of the household how all of the people who had given tours of the mission school would be offered jobs at the new Mexican restaurant. Katie waists no time in asking her if that great-looking boy would be working there and she assures her that he will. She then goes on to say, "he said that he never thought he would meet a girl who he wants to date in jail."

At this point Katie, thinking that all of her flirtatious behavior had "finely" paid off said, "did you here that Julie?"

Before Julie gets a chance to answer, Samantha says, "he's taking 'me' to a movie tomorrow!" It was "great" when Nell, Julie and Samantha make a circle around Katie singing "Guantanimaro"! I always thought that this all served Katie right for thinking that she was such an irristable sex kitten!

Samantha's Protest was one of my favorite episodes from the third season! I especially liked the parts where the Chief chews out the neighbor, and where Samantha bursts Katie's bubble about the cute guy from the protest in the end. Season 3 of GAB! was my favorite season out of all of them. Seasons 2 and 4 are a close second, though. I can't wait until Season 3 of GAB! is released! I'm still holding out hope that we won't have to wait too much longer for the release!

Now that I see how similar our outlooks are on this show, I felt a need to "thank you" for your hosptiality! Judging by the pen name that you give yourself, I would imagine that this is your favorite sitcom. I was wondering if you have posted any messages about any other shows. If you have, I would be "very" interested in reading them! Another thing that I learned from your profile was that you are a female. I checked my own profile and I saw that that space was left blank! I did not mean to abstain from answering that question! I guess that it was just an oversight on my part. Part of this could be because this is my first time registering on a board like this and part of it could be because I have a learning disability. Just so you will know, I am a male! Smartboy, thank you for the lovely message. Based on your pen name, I guessed you're a guy. The fact that you have a learning disability helps me to understand why you used the word "finely" instead of "finally". However, based on your writings that I have read thus far, it appears as though you have worked really hard to overcome your learning disability- keep up the good work! I'm only 29 years old, and I have found that in the last few years, I have discovered that I tend to have a processing problem. When people give me oral instructions, I have to have them repeated-once for hearing, and once for comprehension. I am more of an experiential learner myself, in that I learn best by doing. Are you a professional writer? If so, for whom do you write? Anyway, I chose my pen name as a dedication to this show. When I realized that I was going to have to keep the same name throughout the entire site, I just decided to keep it, and not worry about the hassle of changing it for every sitcom site I visit. I haven't posted anything on any of the other sitcom sites as yet, but I will eventually. Have you read all of my posts? As I have said before, Season 3 of GAB is my favorite season. I couldn't tell you what my all time favorite episode is, because there are so many to choose from. As much as I loved Season 4, it was difficult watching Dolph Sweet's health decline as quickly as it did and watching the 5th Season premiere was also difficult to watch as it made his passing all the more real and difficult to deal with. However, the cast and crew did a pretty good job at keeping the show afloat in the 5th season. However, in the 6th season when the girls were gone, the show (for the most part) became unwatchable. The show had pretty much ran out of substance at that point. I'm glad that GAB is finally out on DVD. Hopefully, Season 3 will be released by the end of this year! Have you seen the E! True Hollywood Story of GAB? If so, what did you think?

I do not remember Samanth's Protest

The first part of this message is directed at the last poster on this sight. He said that he did not remember "Samantha's Protest". I would say that myself and the female poster on this page have, pretty much summed up what happened in that episode. However, if the guy who posted did, in fact see the episode when it was on, maybe a visual aid will jog his memory. Several posts bellow ours is one called "More Stuff on You Tube". I know that you know about it because you responded to it. In any event, if you look through the selections on that sight, you will come to a clip from that episode. In this clip, you will see a little of Katie's fruitless effort to get a date with the male protester.

For those of you who "do" remember this episode, I thought that it might be fun to take an opinion poll about a given issue that went on in this episode. The issue that I am thinking of is whether Katie deserved to have her bubble burst in the fashion that she did at the end of the episode. In my opinion, it was a "halarious piece of poetic justice"! I will tell you why:

Early in the episode, when Julie was telling Katie that he was not whistleing at her he was calling his dog, Katie responded with "get in touch Julie! He always whistles at me! After Julie raised her eyebrows, Katie added "the boy's my slave"! I thought that Katie was "way" too full of herself! When Samantha asked each of the females in the house if they would come with her to the sit-in, Katie's response was "I would but I have to do my nails! How shallow can you get?

A few scenes later, Nell was forced to take Katie and Julie to the scene of the protest to deal with the police. It was here that Katie flurted her butt off with the guy who she would have liked to believe was whistleing at her. She behaved in a way that was, in the words of Julie "discusting"!

At the end of the episode, all was well and Samantha was telling the other females of the household about her future job at the new Mexican restaurant. Katie waisted no time in asking Samantha if that great looking guy would be working there. Once again, she was thinking with her hormones!

After saying that he would be a waiter at the restaurant, she decided to have a little fun. She said that that boy said that he never thought that he would meet a girl who he wanted to date in jail! At this point, Katie thought that she was getting the double delight of getting to go out with the boy and getting to stick it to Julie. While Katie was salivating Samantha said "he's taking 'me' to a movie tommorow! I looked at this being a priceless justice triumph! I would be "very" interested in what other viewers think!

For those of you who either don't remember the GAB episode entitled, "Samantha's Protest" (Season 3) or were just wondering about this episode, or for whatever other reason, let me just give you a recap.

In the episode, "Samantha's Protest", Samantha and her fellow tour guides were protesting the tearing down of the Santa Marta Mission School in order to make room for a Mexican restaurant. Samantha asks Nell, Katie, and Julie to join her, but to no avail. Later, when Nell and the Chief were watching a football game, Officer Simpson comes to the house to inform the Chief about the protest and the fear of trouble. When Nell gets wind of what's happening, she informs the Chief that one of the protesters may be Samantha, so Nell, Katie, and Julie go to the protest location ahead of the Chief and Simpson. After Nell tries to convince Samantha to stop the protest (to no avail), Simpson and the Chief show up, and at this point, the restaurant owner, Mr. Gonzalez, is ready to press charges against the protesters. Soon enough, Nell, Katie, and Julie join Samantha in the protest to the Chief's dismay. The Chief then proceeeds to warn the protesters that they were trespassing and they could be arrested. When Samantha tells the Chief that he could not arrest his own children, he walks up to Samantha, kisses her on her cheek, and proceeds to read her and her fellow protesters their rights. Then, Nell, Samantha, and the other protesters put themselves in the jail cell. The situation is so outrageous, that the story gets on the news. Then Grandpa and Joey arrive at the station upset about what had happened, and they join the protesters in the jail cell. Then the mayor calls the Chief demanding the protesters' release. As they are released, the family is so mad at the Chief (because he chose his job over his family)that they would not even speak to him. Later at the house, a neighbor shows up (because Joey and the neighbor's kid traded bikes earlier that day) and accuses Joey of stealing his kid's bike. The neighbor then proceeds to talk trash about the family, at which point, the Chief chews out the neighbor, saying that Samantha stood up for what she believed in and that the rest of the family backed her up because they loved her, whether it was right or wrong. After that, the family apologized to the Chief, realizing that he was only doing his job. In the end, the cute guy that Katie liked planned on taking Samantha to the movies the next day.

Any questions? I hope this information helps. I have only seen the syndicated version of this episode. Hopefully when Season 3 is released on DVD, I will be able to see what the uncut version of this episode looks like! Feel free to let me know what you thought about this review.:)

Yes, I thought that it was great that Samantha bursted Katie's bubble when it came to that cute guy from the protest. Katie needed to realize that she was not the only Kanisky daughter/sister who could get a date with a cute guy, and that not every good looking guy is going to fall for Katie.

Katie was also very full of herself in the episode "Katie Steals Julie's Jock". I watched it again last night and Katie acts very casual about going out with Steve. She isn't sensitive to Julie's feelings when she says Steve liked her better than her younger sister. The spaghetti fight scene in that episode is classic. :lol:

Steve was thinking "where the sun doesn't shine" (for lack of a better term). If you watch the episode, "Katie Steals Julie's Jock" (or if you remember that episode), you may note that Steve actually lusted Katie, but he wasn't really in love with her, especially when he said something about Katie's brown eyes, when in actuality her eyes were blue and Katie corrected him, and he was like, "Yeah, right." He also called Julie "Judy". That's when Katie finally started to put two and two together and realized that he was only using Julie to get to Katie without caring about Julie's feelings, which did not sit well with Katie, and she and Julie made amends in the end. Besides, if you really think about it, Julie had the last laugh in the 4th season when she hooked up with Jonathan (cute guy) and they got married, and eventually had a baby. Jonathan was a good guy (and cute) who loved Julie for who she was as a person. Katie just seemed to be going out with one jerk after the other. As far as Katie was concerned, looks seemed to be one of the most important things to her anyway.

Because posting new threads did not get me any responses, I have decided to try a new techneque. I am going to try bringing some old threads to the top of the board and see if new people will respond to them. Like I mentioned several times on this thread, "Samantha's Protest" was one of my "favorite" episodes of the whole series! I wish more people would tell me what they think of it!
