View Full Version : Bonds Hits 755! Chelsea 08-04-2007, 10:30 PM Breaking; Watching the game on ESPN2 Now Brian Damage 08-04-2007, 10:40 PM I won't celebrate a cheater. Janice 08-04-2007, 10:48 PM He's shameless. I'm just glad it's out the way, so we don't have to listen about the cheater anymore. Another week tops, hopefully. * Janice 08-04-2007, 11:03 PM Alex Rodriguez's 500th homer was more newsworthy So true, and he earned all of them, fair and square. He can and should hold his head up high. Zoneboy 08-04-2007, 11:16 PM So true, and he earned all of them, fair and square. He can and should hold his head up high. Amen to that. Mr. Television 08-04-2007, 11:19 PM Bond sucks. As far as I'm concerned Aaron still holds the record. Mr. Television 08-04-2007, 11:23 PM http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-sp.bbnotes03aug03,0,1067217.story Sushi restaurant honors Aaron 'No added steroids,' ad proclaims From wire reports August 3, 2007 As Barry Bonds pushes for home run No. 755 to tie one of baseball's most hallowed records, a Colorado sushi restaurant is celebrating the man who set the record - Hank Aaron. Hapa Sushi Grill ran a half-page ad yesterday in the satirical weekly The Onion that read "Congratulations Hank Aaron on 755 home runs." At the bottom of the page, the ad continues: "Organic beef and chicken, no added steroids." Full-page ads are planned for two Boulder, Colo., daily newspapers starting today. Jonathan Schoenberg of TDA Advertising & Design in Boulder, who created the ad, said it's a timely way to promote the restaurant's natural food and is intended as a tribute to Aaron. But he acknowledged it's also a roundabout dig at Barry Bonds, who has been accused of using steroids. Bonds has long denied doping. I found it funny that both A-Rod and Bonds hit homers today after ESPNEWS had in the Breaking News Box last night that Bonds and A-Rod did nothing Friday Night-lol Was it Fix???-lol Mikado 08-05-2007, 03:33 AM Hammering Hank retains the NON-juiced record  , ironically, he took a lot of guff and death threats himself at the time. ( Many people were upset that Babe Ruths record was going to fall....especially to a black man ) Hank Aaron was class itself and Bonds doesnt deserve to hold his jockstrap! ( I remember the night Aaron hit 715 to beat out Ruth, I was watching an Expos game and they went to a live feed of all his at bats that night......I didnt even KNOW Bonds had hit 755 until I saw this thread, shows how much I care about it ! ) Lex Luthor 08-05-2007, 03:35 AM I missed this thread when I posted mine What are the chances Bonds goes homerless for the rest of his carreer - I wish Very tarnished record - Hank is still the King TJL 08-05-2007, 05:52 AM I honestly hope the Sunday New York newspapers will be celebrating A-Rod's wonderful career milestone over Barry's record breaking homer. I wish that A-Rod will stay healthy and active that he will someday break the alltime homerun record, so Bonds wil have as minimal time as possible to be the record holder. Hopefully, the media will finally be done with Bonds, so i no longer have to see his smug smirking face on TV. Enjoy it while you can Barry, I'm sure you'll be seeing a judge once this season is over. :yousuck: Zoneboy 08-05-2007, 06:04 AM http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e211/zoneboy/Godzillatron-football-sign-generato.jpg TVFactFan 08-05-2007, 12:27 PM Anyone notice how confused Bud Selig was looking after Bonds he the HR?-lol He was looking like he wasn't sure what he should, "SHOULD I SIT? SHOULD I STAND?-lol Mr. Cranky 08-05-2007, 12:40 PM http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-sp.bbnotes03aug03,0,1067217.story Sushi restaurant honors Aaron 'No added steroids,' ad proclaims From wire reports August 3, 2007 As Barry Bonds pushes for home run No. 755 to tie one of baseball's most hallowed records, a Colorado sushi restaurant is celebrating the man who set the record - Hank Aaron.
