Cassandra Warner walked into the kitchen of her house and called for her mother, Blair. "Mother?" she called. "She went to the store." Blaine answered from behind. Cassandra turned around. "Oh.." she replied. "When will she be back?" she continued. "I dunno. She went food shopping. Probably about a hour." Blaine said as he walked into the corner of the kitchen to pick up his breifcase. "You mean your going to work?" Cassandra asked. "Yeah..I have to cover for someone else." he stated as he grabbed his jacket off the coatrack. "Oh.." Cassandra said quietly, hoping he could stay home with his family for once. "Well...bye then." Cassandra said. "See ya." Blaine said as he left the house. Cassandra let out a sigh as she left the kitchen slowly.

Jackie Bonner, who lived no more than a street away from Cassandra sat on her bed in her bedroom and began cleaning her bike helmet making sure there were no more smudges or fingerprints on it. "Well it wasn't my fault I couldn't come home earlier!!!" Rick yelled from the kitchen. Jo groaned and walked to her dresser. Rick and Jo have been fighting for a long time now, and it was beginning to get to the point when they couldn't bare to see each other without a arguement of some sort. "Why won't they just shut up already!?" Jackie complained to herself. "They just can't stop fighting!" she repeated to herself. She wished she could just tell them how much their fighting was affecting her, but she couldn't. Besides, she thought there would probably be another fight right when she entered the kitchen.

Cassandra lay on her bed with her head on her pillow thinking of how all the other girls at school have fathers who come home and spend time with them instead of working 23 hours of their day. She rose from her bed as tears formed in her eyes. She wiped them off and heard someone enter the house. She wiped the tears off again and walked into the kitchen seeing Blair put two grocery bags on the kitchen table and looked at Cassandra. "Hi hunny. Wheres' your father?" She asked. "Work...same as always." Cassandra replied. Blair began putting grocerys away with no answer. "Mom, I wish he could spend more time with us." Cassandra said. "I know darling, I do too." Blair replied.

Jackie sighed as she heard the fighting stop. She decided to go see what they were doing. If they weren't fighting, what else could they possibly do? she thought. She walked into the living room and found Jo on the couch crying. "Mom?? What's wrong?" Jackie said. "Oh..nothing. Your father just...slapped me." she said. Jackie was shocked. "Great..Now its physical abuse?!" she said sarcastically. "Where is he now?" she asked. "He left. I don't know where he went. He just left!!" she said as the tears began to stop coming down her cheeks. "Oh.." Jackie replied as she made her way back into the room to call Cassandra. So she picked up the phone and called her.

"Hello?" Cassandra said as she picked up the phone in her room. "Hey..it's Jackie. Your never gonna belive what happened." she said. "What happened?" Cassandra answered. "My dad and my mom are fighting...and my dad slapped my mom." Jackie said. Cassandra was shocked. "Oh my gosh...well things aren't excactly perfect here either." she said quietly. "What do ya mean?" Jackie answered. "My father is never home! He just leaves me and my mom here when he goes to work..its like work is his life!" Cassandra complained. "I just wish we could do something to help our parents." Cassandra continued. "Cas, it isn't just them. It's us too! This stuff is affecting us too!" She stated. "Yeah, but we gotta stop them to make it stop affecting us!" Cassandra replied. "Well...we should be concerned on not only them but us too." Jackie said. "Well what could we possibly do to help US?" Cassandra asked. "Well..I got a idea..." Jackie said. "What?" Cassandra said. "Let's...run away....." Jackie said.
Guys..I am sorry but I gotta go! I promise I will write more soon! Do you like it so far?
