How about Wally? Zoneboy 07-31-2007, 03:27 AM According to Jim Nabors, "Man In a Hurry" was the first episode he appeared in. I think it was on an A&E special that aired a few years ago. IMDb gives the following info: #1. The Bank Job (24 December 1962) - Gomer Pyle #2. Man in a Hurry (14 January 1963) - Gomer Pyle Although Jim said that "Man In a Hurry" was his first episode, He probably meant the first one filmed instead of first one aired. Wally was first seen in the 1962 episode "Lawman Barney" Scoobiedoo30 07-31-2007, 01:09 PM was that the episode where Barney get's his first car and if so are they going to re-run that episode Zoneboy 07-31-2007, 01:13 PM was that the episode where Barney get's his first car and if so are they going to re-run that episode No, "Man In a Hurry" was the episode where Malcolm Tucker's car broke down and nobody would fix it because it was Sunday. You're thinking of "Barney's First Car" with Ellen Corby. treky 07-31-2007, 04:12 PM yes; I'm sure they'll show "Barneys first car" again someday. I don't know how long TV LAND has the rights for TAGS; but it looks like a looooong time. brgmgb 08-07-2007, 10:33 PM I caught "Gomer the House Guest" tonight (from 1963). It is amazing how Gomer's character gained auto mechanic knowledge in just a few episodes. In "Man in a Hurry", Gomer couldn't even replace a clogged fuel line. He had to wait for Goober (never seen in the episode) to return from fishing. All he knew how to do was gas and air. In "Gomer the House Guest", Gomer was diagnosing problems by listening to the engine/shocks/etc from Andy's upstairs spare bedroom window. He was even working on a truck in Andy's driveway. These could have been easy problems to fix, and living at the garage and presumably helping Wally could have helped increase his abilities. Who played Wally in these episodes? It sure looked like a different actor. Zoneboy 08-07-2007, 10:41 PM Who played Wally in these episodes? It sure looked like a different actor. There were four different Wallys throughout the run of the series, as follows: Norman Leavitt appears as Wally in "Lawman Barney" and "Man in a Hurry." Leavitt had previously appeared as Cal in episode 2 "The Manhunt," as Gil in "Andy the Marriage Counselor" and as the coffee shop owner in "Barney Gets His Man." Wally was played by Trevor Bardette in "Gomer the House Guest." Cliff Norton assumed the role in "Goober's Replacement." ...and finally, Blackie Hunt plays Wally in "The Barbershop Quartet." However, it's not clear if the Wally we see in "The Barbershop Quartet" was supposed to be the Wally from the filling station, or just some other guy named Wally. |
