View Full Version : Why is ION screwing with the WTB episode order?!

I just went and checked the episode guide at the WTB Resource web site, and according to how they list the episodes, ION is showing them all scrambled up!

I hate that...I was all excited to start taping WTB when ION started showing season 2, since all we have on DVD is season 1, and they have season 2 shows airing before season 1 is even ended, including "Thanksgiving at Mrs. Rosini's"---?! That was the 1st red flag for me, because I knew that never happened in season 1!

Frankly I don't think there can be any "logic" behind this. If ION can be wonderful with Designing Women with only 2 commercial breaks, and showing every episode in order, why can't they show WTB in order??

It figures something would have to go screwy to mess with my WTB eagerness...*sigh*...

Sorry to hear that is what they are doing to your show. It sounds like ION is at it again. Just like when they were screwing up ALICE, they are doing it to these shows too. I am not surpised.

Yes, and it makes it a heck of a lot harder to tape the show in chronological order, which is why I love taping DW. My VCR tapes it while I'm at work, I get home, edit it into my DW tape collection, and there, I'm done. Easy at about 45 minutes and all I have to do is have my "system" going.

Now for WTB I'd have to take the time to fast forward to the right show, wait a day or two for the "next" correct episode to air, go back a day or two to catch up the ones I'd already taped...thanks a lot, ION.

Well they are WONDERFUL with Designing Women. I don't have any complaints, as any edits are very minor and largely unnoticeable, unless you're "overly familiar" with the episode. It doesn't completely screw up the continuity and plot like it did on Alice (plus there are only 2 commercial breaks, not 4).

It's just their WTB out-of-order showing I'm frustrated with right now.

Glad to know at least DW is not so bad. I am sorry to hear that WTB is not so good. Too bad too because this show hasn't been seen in a long while and you would think for that reason alone, they would put them in order.

As for Alice, the show was in order, however there were at least three episodes that I can think of that weren't shown at all. I don't know why, but that is what they did to Alice.

They showed them in order tonight and tomorrow night they are too. Its just that It Happened One Summer should be on Wenesday and they aren't showing that until August 6th. There are only 2 commercial breaks with WTB its just further into the episode that it is with The Wonder Years. Anyway, I don't really care what order they are in, I just want to watch them.

No, they're all jumbled up in a random order. Completely messed up. Take a look at the actual order and then compare that with what ION is doing:

Given the choice, I'd rather have it at 4:30 am, if they were shown in order. That way it's a heck of a lot easier editing the episodes in order.

It doesn't really matter to me as long as I can watch it at a decent time.
Last night they showed Tony's Father in Law and Just Like Tony. Those are right after each other. Then tonight they are showing Keeping Up With Marci and First Kiss. Those aren't out of order. When they get to Season 2 though they are a little out of order. They are showing 4 episodes before they show It Happened One Summer and then they are in order again.

No they're not in order again. The left column is ION's upcoming showings, the right column is the right order:

Ad Man--------------Ad Man
Thanksgiving---------Heiress
Prodigal FiL----------Matchmaker
Matchmaker---------Custody
IH1Summer-----------Hunk
Heiress---------------Thanksgiving
Hunk----------------Prodigal FiL
Graduate------------Graduate
Nanny---------------Nanny
Custody-------------Executive
Jonathan Plays Cupid---Educating Tony
Gotta Dance---------Gotta Dance
--------------------The Babysitter
--------------------Jonathan Plays Cupid

It's unbelievable how much they're screwing up the order. For those of us who were looking forward to taping them in order, it's that much harder. I wish it were back on N@N at 4:30 am show in order, like it should be, so it'd be that much easier to record/edit.

I believe they're airing them in production order, not by airdate. At least for the most part.

I don't get what you're saying. For some reason, they are just airing random season 2 episodes on WEdnesday, Thursday, and Friday, but beginning Monday, they are airing the episodes in order, just skipping over the episodes they already aired Wed, Thur, and Fri. It's really not that big of a deal. Maybe they wanted to air the first episode of season 2 on the start of a new week or something.

I agree with you. It isn't that big of a deal and even if you are taping them, I mean at least you will get all the episodes, but they may not ALL be in order.

I just looked at the production codes at the WTB? Resource site, and that seems to be the case. Unfortunately either they produced them quite randomly, or decided afterward to air them in a jumbled-up order.

It's clear from my lists above though that the two orders (production, airing) are vastly different. Season 2 does have its later shows airing in sequential order with just a couple or few misplaced (unlike the mess they have I posted above). However, I just checked the codes for season 3, and it's the same as season two---scrambled up pretty badly until the latter part, where there are still a few randomly "misplaced" ones.

Oh, well.

You're right. In my opinion, I'm just glad they're airing the show and that's it. I'll watch, it laugh, then watch it again tomorrow. It's not that big a deal to me.
