Jackie Bonner quietly rose from her bed so that nobody would hear her. She tip toed to her coat rack and grabbed her coat, slipping it on her quietly. She picked up a pony tail holder from her dresser and put it in her hair as she bent down to pick up her sneakers. She put them on and tied them and quietly opened her bedroom door and tip toed out.

She quietly walked down the hallway and peeked into Rick and Jo's room to make sure they were still asleep. She then took her head out of their room and continued creeping down the hallway and quietly walked down the stairs. She then came to the front door of her house and she quietly opened it. There was a slight noise so she froze for a quick second, but then she quietly creeped out of the house and shut the door gently.

She gulped as she began to walk down the brick path outside her house and before she knew it she was at the sidewalk. All of the sudden she saw Rick and Jo's bedroom light go on. She gasped and began running down the sidewalk as fast as she could hoping Jo and Rick would not see her. Her brown ponytail bounced as she continued running. She knew she would be in big trouble is she got caught doing what she was about too.

"Hunny..why'd you turn on the light??" Rick said as he squinted his eyes from the bright light. "I heard someone in the hallway.." Jo said. Jo got up and examined the hallway slowly making sure nobody was in it. She saw that Jackie's door was open and she walked fast into her room and was shocked at what she saw -- Jackie was gone.

Jackie finally stopped running when she got to a small store with a large glass door and windows surrounding it. She ran into the back of it and revealed a spray paint can from her pocket. She gulped at what she was about to do. She then walked closer to the back of the building and pointed the spray can at it and gulped once again and sprayed the paint on the brick wall, causing red sprays of paint to cover the bricks. She then stopped but kept doing it.

Jo ran into her and Rick's room francticlly. "Rick! Jackie is gone!" she yelled. Rick got up and ran into her room seeing her gone. "Where could she be?!" Jo said. "I'll go check downstairs." Rick said. Jo ran around the house calling her name but there was no answer. Then Rick came up with no sign of her. "We better call the police." Jo said. Then Rick ran to the telephone and dialed 9-1-1.

Jackie finally stopped spary paitning the back wall of the building and put the paint can back in her pocket. She cleared her throat and then walked back up the alley when she suddenly heard a police siren. "Oh no..." Jackie said to herself. The police car turned onto the street she was on and it seemed like it was coming right towards her.

"Well..they sent troups out to go and find her, hunny. There isn't much we could do." Rick said right after the police man he called left his house to find Jackie. Jo sat on the couch with her head in her palms. "Rick..I'm so worried..." she said as her eyes suddenly filled with tears. "It'll be alright hunny..don't worry...." Rick said, trying to calm her down.

It was clear that the police car was chasing Jackie. Jackie kept running father down the street as people from their apartment windows watched. She kept running not wanting to get caught but she knew she was going to. She turned around the block and saw stairs to an aprtment builing that should be used during a fire emergency. She knew she shouldn't do what she was planning to..but she felt she had to.

The police man in the police car suddenly lost his glance on Jackie and didn't know where she was. "Where the heck did that girl go?!" He yelled to himself. "She couldn't have gone too far.." the police man admitted to himself. But where Jackie was happened to be much closer than he thought. He rode right past the fire escape staircase. And that was where Jackie was.

"Phew..." Jackie said with a sigh as she helf on to the bars of the staircase. She let go and the police siren could not be heard by her any longer. She pulled the hair that was out of her ponytail behind her ears and didn't know what she was suppose to do next.

The police men continued driving down the streetts of New York searching for Jackie wondering where she could possibly be. "Where the heck is that girl!?" the police officer yelled outloud. "She couldn't have gone too far..she is only 13!" he said again. All of the sudden, while going around time a number of times, she spotted her finally.

Jackie jumped off the fire exit and stopped moving when she heard footsteps. She gulped knowing someone was there. All of the sudden she saw a shaddow and tip toed down the alley. "Hey!!" the police officer said as he spotted her. Jackie started running down the street, the police man chasing after her."Stop it!! Stop running now!" the police officer yelled. All of the sudden the police officer grabbed Jackie when he caught up with her.

"What do you think your doing??! Your parents have been looking all over town for you young lady!" he said. "I...I..." all of the sudden she jerked away as the spray paint can was thrown out of her pocket. Obviously trying to get out of the police man's clutches was not a smart move.

"Young lady, what were you doing?!! We were so worried!!!" Jo said at the house after she was bailed out of jail. "And you were charged of graffiti!!!? Jackie what has gotten into you!?" Rick continued. "Well...I can't tell you." Jackie stated. "Jackie I want you to tell us right now!" Jo demanded. "Fine." Jackie said quietly. "But...you'll...get..mad..." Jackie said getting emotional. "Hunny, tell us." Rick said.

"Ok...I met a group of guys...and they tried to mug me." Jackie said as tears formed in her eyes. "And they said I had to vandalise the general store downtown...or else they'd kill me." she said crying. Rick and Jo were shocked. Jo hugged Jackie understanding everything. "Hunny...why didn't you tell us??" she said. "Because you wouldn't let me vandalise for sure! And I didn't wanna get killed!!" she explained. "When did this happen?" Rick asked. "About a week ago." Jackie replied. Rick and Jo exchanged looks.

"Well..I better inform the police about this." Rick said as he left the room. Jo and Jackie hugged and cried together. Jo was not mad any longer, but she still didn't want her to did what she did. Jackie then backed away and spoke while crying. "Mom...I love you." she said as they hugged.
