In the jail
The socks are all white, really long and very thin. Try tying socks in a knot and see what you get!

The white macrame belt at the end is too small to fit around anyone's waist. Who's was it?

In the ghost town
Why did Carol carry her purse when Zaccariah showed them around the ghost town? Was she planning on purchasing something at the General Store?

How did city girls Marcia, Jan and Alice know how to hitch up a plow to a mule?

They set up camp, ate a fried chicken dinner, toured the ghost town, were put in jail, escaped, Mike and Peter set out on foot, they met up with Zaccariah, returned and it was still light out. Initially they were worried about getting to the ghost town before dark.

In the Grand Canyon
Carol wore pantsuits while everyone else was in camping attire.

Poor Bobby and Cindy had to wear sweatshirts the entire time (Bobby had his sleeves pushed up. I'm sure he was hot in Arizona).

How did Greg's guitar get down to the bottom of the canyon? It wasn't on a mule.

After pitching the tents, Mike had two huge sweat spots on his shirt below his chest. The spots disappeared, then returned during the search for Bobby and Cindy.

When Carol handed Alice three sleeping bags for the girls' tent, Alice said "That's it, Mrs. Brady. We're wall-to wall sleeping bags in here now." So how did Alice fit in and sleep there later?

They went on the trip to the Grand Canyon in the summer right? Ok, we went to the Grand Canyon last year in September. It was warm and then the monsoon rains hit. We were told that the weather in the summer is HOT! So, why Cindy and Bobby were seen wearing sweatshirts in the summer heat is beyond me. :crazy:

The trip down the canyon is a LONG ONE, although on the show the time was edited for obvious reasons.


Carol should have been wearing jeans or something like that. Those dress pants were not the proper attire.

I too always wondered why Carol carried her purse. :crazy:


Here is a little bit of info regarding the Grand Canyon from one of their tourist sites:

"Overnight camping in the canyon and in undeveloped areas along the rim is carefully monitored and controlled, and demand usually exceeds availability."

^^^^^This has been the rule for as long as there has been tourists at the Grand Canyon. Makes you wonder how the Bradys were able to be "alone" in the Grand Canyon and had to deal with looking for Bobby and Cindy when the camping areas in the canyon are monitored and controlled. :lol:

Yeah, really! The guy at the gas station said something like even the squirrels need reservations. Then the Bradys had such an obscure campsite that only native Americans could find them.

I know the Grand Canyon is big, but come on. No one else in sight for 3 days? Thank goodness they brought every camping necessity invented by man (on 2 mules) so they didn't lack anything.

My hair would have looked like crap by the time I got on the mule train, let alone 3 days later. omg: Kudos to Carol for maintaining her mullet.

Exactly right abt the reservations. To get a mule ride you have to make your reservations at least 8 MONTHS IN ADVANCE! I am sure it wasn't like that in the 70's, but! there has always been some sort of waiting list. And Mike barely bought that camper, so he had no idea at least months in advance that he was going to the Grand Canyon. :crazy: :lol:

There is no way they wouldn't have had some sort of human contact. :crazy: If they were camped where they were supposed to be, there is no possibility of not having human contact. The only way would be if they got in a raft and took off down the river and camped somewhere they shouldn't have.

The Grand Canyon is HUGE! One can get lost in it, no doubt abt it. But it was so unreal how the episodes made it seem. There are rangers checking on the campers, as long as they are camped where they are supposed to be camping (Like I mentioned above). Also, as far as the Indians who lived there, well, there are tribes who live nearby but they are not obscure as the show made it seem.

The girls have been out to ride horses a lot of times.


I was actually quite impressed with the way all of the actors (including the kids) looked riding those horses on the way down... they all seemed very much at home on them, and did a great job in those scenes. Even Cindy looked as if there was nothing to it.
