(This is sort of, but not totally, a reunion fan fic. It takes place in 1990: two years after Nat got her first taste of writer life [I'm sorry if I seem like I'm copying off the real episode's title], Jo married Rick, and Tootie married Jeff and Blair bought Eastland. What happens to everyone in this fan fic will be NOT be mentioned here in this disclaimer... a little, five-second suspense for you!!!)
Natalie Green looked at the clock on her dresser. It read 7:30 a.m. - and it was about two hours past her usual starting time for writing a new story. Whether it was the fact she had overslept and her alarm had forgotten to go off... or maybe she just hadn't heard it and it had been buzzing for two hours, she didn't know.
She got up and sharpened a new pencil, then sat down at her desk. "Eastland Escapades: The Third Draft" laid on it. She thought of either working on it (this part was all about Sue Ann, Nancy, Cindy and Molly) or skipping the boring part of her autobiography and going straight for when Jo arrived.
The phone rang then and, tired as she was, Nat answered it.
It was Tootie. "Hi, Nat!" she said brightly, "how's it going? Working on your autobiography?"
"Almost," Natalie replied, thinking of her three Peeskill best friends home working in the store they owned while she worked all day on an autobiography up in SoHo in New York City.
"Well guess what!" Tootie said, even more excited.
"What?" Natalie asked, settling down for some gossip, if possible.
"We need to have a reunion," Tootie said.
"It's only been a year or two," Natalie answered.
"Well, there's so much news!" Tootie said, "like the fact I'm going to be in this movie soon and it's starring..."
Natalie sighed and listened to Tootie, talkative Tootie who never stopped talking. Then she stood up immediately after hearing Tootie's latest question:
"Did you hear who's pregnant?"
"Pregnant?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah, as in having a baby in nine months. Nat, you wouldn't believe who!" Tootie said.
"Who, then?"
"Jo!" Tootie said happily.
