Okay, I know this has been discussed before a lot probably, but I was watching the episode where Denise and Martin pretend to get remarried in the living room earlier on WGN. And the disturbing moment came on: when Cliff asked Martin if Denise and him had done it before they were married. I saw this for the first time in a long time, and it was even more disturbinb than I remembered. Cliff asks Martin "did you and Denise..." and then Martin's like, I dont know if i should be discussing this with you...and Cliff say "yes you should." with his mouth open like he can just taste the juicy gossip. And Martin tells him he was hte one experienced on their wedding night, and Cliff is like "you mean my daughter was...on her wedding night?" And the he starts to do a happy dance!?! Why would any father start DANCING after learning their daughter was deflowered on their wedding night is beyond me. Just thinking about this makes me angry lol. It has invasive and I almost get an incest-ish vibe from him wanting to know and celebrating her lost virginity. I wish someone would ask Bill Cosby what he was thinking when he suggested that be in the storyline lol.

I so agree with you. It is creepy beyond words. Bill's subtlety (or lack of) regarding sexual situations, innuendos, etc. was not what I would call "family fare" considering that was Bill's big issue with his show and all the other sitcoms he supposedly disliked.

Just like when he had that scene in the anniversary episode where it was practically stated that the grandparents had sex the night before...:puke:

Very blunt, but to the point.

I dont understand why Cliff would think that Martin would have known for sure.
Denise was at Hillman a whole year, she could have done anything. She obviously wasn't studying or working. She had plenty of spare time to fill.

And maybe's this is just me, but being a virgin, I would feel too inexperienced to get married to a divorced man with a daughter just like that. And yes, Denise could very well have had sex with previous boyfriends.

My first post-

I remember them referencing Denise's sexual activity years earlier when they had the family discussion about coming to your parents about anything. It's when Denise's friend went to see Cliff about a medical problem.

Denise said she spent the night at Tommy Watkins house and Cliff was questioning Theo about moving his car.

Denise said she was kidding though. But of course, we don't know for sure...

If you watch that scene carefully, Denise was trying to get her parents "angry" to prove the point that there will be times when parents will get angry at certain things their kids tell them. Cliff and Claire were so sure they would NOT become angry IF THEIR KIDS CAME TO THEM AND WERE HONEST ABT CERTAIN THINGS. Denise proved them wrong when she made up that lie and even told Claire she could call her friend's parents and indeed verify that she was at HER house and not Tommy's house.

Excactly. But she and Tommy could still have done "things", so maybe it wasn't a complete lie. ;)

rRght. We can only ASSUME Denise was just joking.

I think she could have been half-joking.

Example: She could have been over to Tommy's house, when his parents were on vacation. But she chose to say she did it at the same night as she was at her friend's house, so that she wouldn't get into too much trouble, since her friend's mother should have verified, that she was there that night.

If I was Martin I would have said "You have to ask her" or "That isn't up for discussion sir." I mean, why would Cliff ask his daughter's husband about HER virginity? If he wanted to know soooo bad, he could have just asked her himself.

Yeah, I know. And why did he ask in the first place? Was it any of his business?
