View Full Version : Observations made in the episode abt Greg and working for his dad...
Ireneparalegal 07-25-2007, 12:42 AM The episode where Greg works for his dad's company delivering documents, I noticed a few things:
1) Where was Marcia (Maureen McCormick)? Either her scenes were edited out by the station or she wasn't in this episode...anyone know?
2) Carol is stunned when Greg tells his parents his wish for a car. Carol makes a statement that is kinda odd. She states (words to the effect) "Greg, I was worried when you got your bike." Ok, it couldn't have been when Greg received a bike for the first time because he was too young and Carol wasn't his "mother" at that time. So, she had to be referencing when he was more or less 13-14 years of age. To me, that is too old for Carol to be saying she was worried abt him getting a bike. He is not a young boy.
3) When Greg goes to Randi's class to find out where her father is at, Randi states her father went "to the garage" to take the car. Greg says thanks and promptly leaves. Randi never mentioned the name of the garage, how would Greg know which one? Or is there only one automotive repair shop in the whole city?????
Rich3 07-25-2007, 11:42 AM As for the "garage" statement, there may have been one neighborhood garage close by where her dad took his car. Very common even today.
Anther thing. Since Greg seemed to have a one track mind in that episode (cars, not girls), it stands to reason that he probably would have discussed her father's car with her, or with her father, at some time in the recent past.
Do you honestly have no imagination?

Irene are you watching the DVD's or is the Brady Bunch on a local California station?
Ireneparalegal 07-25-2007, 02:02 PM It's on a local station Solomon.
As for you Rich, it's called DISCUSSION. Maybe others have the same questions or had the same observations. Maybe others never noticed those things. No need to be crass and rude. I am not showing that kind of attitude towards you. If you see the other boards you will see this is how we get discussions going abt a particular episode.
Also, where I live, we have over 50 garages, so no, it is not common place to have just one. Even back in the 70's, there were at least 20 garages. The city where the Bradys live has been (as from I have discussed with others) is not small, it is not a town or village.
I see I got no response to my other two observations. Did you not have anything to say abt those two? Or was giving me attitude on one question enough for you?

Irene the fact that he has 360 posts and been a member since 2005 means his opinion on this board means nothing. Don't even waste your time with that ******

I forgot to add, I do have the Brady Bunch on DVD, season 1, but have never had the time to put the disc in to watch it. I will usually pop in some other DVD if I have time to watch any DVD.
Rich3 07-25-2007, 08:01 PM What a loser thread...ugh.

Why are you interested in the amusement park episode on DVD Solomon?
Madame X 07-25-2007, 09:37 PM What a loser thread...ugh.
This is actually NOT a loser thread. There are many of us who like to discuss certain shows.
If you are not into it, move on. :bye:

Why are you interested in the amusement park episode on DVD Solomon?
Because It's my favorite ep of the entire series and I'm sure there was some additional amusement park scenes I would be interested In

Oh yeah, I remember you saying that before. But remember, DVD or not, some sitcoms are not complete on DVD's...remember Good Times?
WHAT ARE WE REALLY PAYING FOR?????

Marcia was in at least one scene in that episode... after Greg gets fired, Marcia mentions that she spoke to the girl that Greg likes...and Greg accuses Marcia of spilling the beans to that girl about his getting fired...which she didn't, of course.
But yeah, Marcia was in that episode.

Thanx Tweety.
Rich3 07-26-2007, 08:12 PM Irene, all I know is that you have been attacking a lot of my threads and posts for quite a while. I don't even remember you *posting* here in the Brady thread until I posted something in Three's Company over a year ago. (I said something you interpreted falsely as critical of Three's Company, then I apologized graciously for giving you that impression, and I made it clear I was a fan of the show.)
I knew that when I posted something slightly critical to you (on your level) that you would be all over me for that. Then you sent me a PM with the word "Loser" and a smily face. I honestly don't know what you want from me.
You're not as interesting to me as I seem to be to you. Since you don't really have much of interest to say in regards to the Brady Bunch, I am officially ignoring you.
Ireneparalegal 07-25-2008, 07:37 PM Well, since Sherwood Schwartz stated the Bradys live in Santa Monica, it made no sense for Greg to know which garage to go to since there are HUNDREDS, of garages in Santa Monica. And yes, even back at that time there were lots of them. ;)
James 08-03-2008, 12:57 AM 3) When Greg goes to Randi's class to find out where her father is at, Randi states her father went "to the garage" to take the car. Greg says thanks and promptly leaves. Irene, I've noticed that, too, and I've even contemplated the possibility of Greg going from one garage to another when I've seen the episode rerun!
Jack1000 08-05-2008, 03:16 PM I have the whole series on DVD and all of the episodes run 25 minutes or more, as opposed to edited TV Land/Syndicated prints that run under 22 minutes.
The one scene in "Call Me Irresponsible" is when Greg is at the drama school, I have a very faint recollection watching this episode back in the early 70's, where Randy and the drama teacher do the scene with the flowers at least once before the teacher opens the door and hits Greg in the chest with them. However, this may be my imagination.

Torgo 08-18-2008, 07:14 PM Irene the fact that he has 360 posts and been a member since 2005 means his opinion on this board means nothing.
Wow, I guess my opinion must not mean anything either.:(
Jude The Obscure 08-22-2008, 11:34 PM Don't take things too personal, here, Torgo. If you do, you will get so stressed out and never enjoy things here at S.O.!
magellan333 09-07-2008, 08:17 PM Maybe Randi's dad owned that very garage, so her saying "the garage" meant to her "The Garage" meaning the one her father owns.
dav4463 09-12-2008, 05:05 AM How can anybody get mad on a Brady Bunch board?
