View Full Version : Hillman Episode on last night
UMfan77 07-24-2007, 02:57 PM Did anyone watch the ever-so-boring Hillman episode last night? The whole family, including the grandparents, went to Hillman to visit Denise. Poor Sondra got treated like an outcast because she went to Princeton (how dare she!). When asked, both Vanessa and Rudy said they would go to Hillman (like they have a choice).

I happened to put it on because the info on my guide said they were going to show a different episode. Imagine my surprise when I seen that GOD-AWFUL BORING ASS EPISODE OF COSBY...:puke:

The first min are actually watchable, it's the last 15 min that are AWFUL-lol
Brieannas21 07-24-2007, 07:52 PM I liked it, it takes me back to my college graduation (Oh the memories)
Mr. Television 07-24-2007, 08:07 PM That's the worst episode of the Cosby Show.
Mikado 07-24-2007, 09:02 PM That's the worst episode of the Cosby Show.
AMEN! That was litterally the show that caused me to never again watch an episode of the series!!! ( Really! ) :barf:
jamesanthony 07-27-2007, 10:32 AM I have to admit that this is a dull episode- probably the dullest of the 200 (or is it 201) that they produced, but in a way I can see why Cosby did it- When you have the most watched show on tv you can use it as a platform to call to attention something and that's exactly what he did- he did it to make a point about the rich legacy of HSBCs. Different World did a more entertaining job of this- but it hadn't started yet.
I thought the people playing the retiring president and the new president weren't actors, but they were- Gloria Foster a very highly regarded actress was the new president.
While it is dull to watch, I can imagine how the people at Spellman or wherever this was taped must've felt having an assembly filmed at their school. It's like the grandparents that so many on here seem to dislike- no they are not the most entertaining characters, but they add culture and texture to the show.
Janice 07-27-2007, 11:27 AM The most God awful episode ever. There are a lot of episodes I hate, mostly with the grandparents or those music shows where they perform, but this one really stunk up the house.
how many grandparents did these kids end up having? i've lost count :p
Mikado 07-27-2007, 12:04 PM "HELLMAN" ??? hahaha
mstewart 07-27-2007, 12:22 PM I did not enjoy the episode. I thought Phylicia's solo was horrible. Her song with Joe Williams in the episode Clair's sister got engaged she did a great job and her little bit with Stevie Wonder was great. If you saw the episode in the third season when she was in bed singing to Cliff What Wonderous Love is This was outstanding.

 That is thee most stunk up episode of the series.
I only like the grandparents being shown when it is those episodes when the family performs to the music. BUT THAT'S IT!!!!!! I don't want to hear abt them having had sex, I don't want to see them being pushy, etc.
I hated when the grandfather practically pushed Denise when she was trying to decide which college to go to. I liked her grandmother's input though: You go where YOU WANT TO GO. That is the only kind of advice those two should have given.

Only 4, two grandmothers and two grandfathers, the norm
Ireneparalegal 07-27-2007, 04:44 PM "HELLMAN" ??? hahaha
OMG, I just realized that Janice posted HELLMAN!!!!!!

Yup, deffinately a great subtle joke
JulieSomoski 07-27-2007, 06:12 PM The first 3 minutes of this episode are good, but when they get to the part when they're in Denise's dorm, it starts going downhill fast.
And who wants to hear about 2 grandparents in their 70's having sex? It's ust discusting! If they want to have sex, by all means do it, but did they have to tell their son about it?

I hated how Denise said she had it narrowed down to 3 schools and the grandfather goes-"WHat else do you need to know about Hillman? I was like damm why are you pressuring the girl to go to HELLMAN?-lol
LOL

The whole sex thing was less than a minute, it's not like it was talked about through out the whole episode, This is getting real old to read. There has been a lot more sex talkin' that has been on family based or sitcom shows made by old people.
The only part for me that was boring in this episode was the speeches that were made.
This wasn't the worst episode, The puppet episode was the WORST EVER in TV history. Also the episode where they're showing Rudy and Olivia's nightmares, THE WORST.

 God, wasn't that just pure pressure right there? No wonder the poor girl ended up failing in college. She should have tried junior college first to get a feel of what college is like. That's probably why Denise went from honor student to a flunkie.

Another play on words!

I hadn't realized why Mikado said HELLman. After I seen the thread a second time I seen the word in bold letters above your post. I was like, "Ohhhhh, that's where Mikey got the word from." HELLMAN is the official word now whenever we post abt Hillman College.
