Lindsay needs salvation, very badly. Shame on Dina Lohan for exposing her daughters to such blasphemous behavior(I needn't explain that-you already know). For Lindsay, please, get help-go back to rehab and stay there until they it's all right for you to go. You need real friends-the kind of friends that have your best interests at heart and not those acquaintances that take advantage of you by dishonest means. Wake up, Lindsay, the company you're keeping is the company you need to get rid of. You have to help yourself-you can't trust your mother or the fools you go clubbing with. Without anyone making negative comments about her, someone please suggest how she should turn her life around.
catlover79 07-24-2007, 10:43 AM  This is not a bright girl...she needs a TOUGH rehab place, not these posh namby-pamby places that are basically just luxury hotels. :mumble: :angryfire
Courtnee 07-24-2007, 10:49 AM I'm disapointed, though not surprised.
Superstar 07-24-2007, 10:55 AM I'm sick of hearing about this skank. She should spend less time partying in Vegas and more time in rehab. Like a year. It's sad that I used to consider myself a fan of that idiot.
T-Greg 07-24-2007, 10:59 AM Spending some time in jail would do her good, but she obviously needs help. Not knowing a whole lot about her background, I can not say that I would definitely put all the blame on her parents, but her mother seems to act like one of her party friends, which is not good at all. I'd be willing to bet she didn't receive much discipline growing up.
catlover79 07-24-2007, 11:20 AM Spending some time in jail would do her good, but she obviously needs help. I'd be willing to bet she didn't receive much discipline growing up.
It seems like her mom sees her more as a meal ticket than as a daughter.
Sophie Treadmill 07-24-2007, 11:37 AM You know, I don't mean this to sound snide or as though I'm unsympathetic, because it seems obvious she has an addiction, but, just as with Paris Hilton, why can't these girls hire drivers? That's like missing the whole point of being rich.
The girl needs help, but until she's ready and willing to truly commit to it, nothing anyone else says or does is going to make a difference. She's the only one that has the power to turn it around. IMO, the fact that she's driving around means she doesn't think she has a problem.
This is pure speculation of course, but I think she looked at her recent stint in rehab as a way to placate the public and the police. I don't think she was there because she thought she really needed to be.
I hope her rock bottom doesn't get even worse before she realizes she needs help.
T-Greg 07-24-2007, 11:48 AM why can't these girls hire drivers? That's like missing the whole point of being rich.
That makes sense to people with common sense, but they have this "I'm me and I'm going to do what the hell I want" mentality.
Mikado 07-24-2007, 12:04 PM Well, i think part of the problem is societal, a friend of mine lives in LA, and, works part-time ( on the side ) as a sound coordinator in some of the "hot" clubs over there ( Sets up audio equipment and lights )....well, she says that the cocaine flows freely in those places, and I dont mean the patrons bring it in, they dont have to, the clubs give it away as a way to attract customers.... hard for an addict to resist free cocaine, wouldnt you think? And, the cops, either cause they cant or wont , dont do anything about it. This isnt just Lohans fault, its a society that has practically given up.
-STEFFY- 07-24-2007, 12:17 PM  This is not a bright girl...she needs a TOUGH rehab place, not these posh namby-pamby places that are basically just luxury hotels. :mumble: :angryfire
^^^ WORD!
That girl is so self-destructive. SHE may be her worst enemy! She needs to help herself before anyone else can really help her. Right now, she's just a train wreck!
Sophie Treadmill 07-24-2007, 12:55 PM Well, i think part of the problem is societal, a friend of mine lives in LA, and, works part-time ( on the side ) as a sound coordinator in some of the "hot" clubs over there ( Sets up audio equipment and lights )....well, she says that the cocaine flows freely in those places, and I dont mean the patrons bring it in, they dont have to, the clubs give it away as a way to attract customers.... hard for an addict to resist free cocaine, wouldnt you think? I can't imagine the LA scene being in any way, a positive place for her to be. I suspect everything you say about the VIP club scene is exactly true. Add to that a hereditary predisposition for addiction and it sounds like the recipe for a disaster just waiting to happen. She'd be much better off giving up the Hollywood life at least for awhile in favor of seeking anonymity.
Also, I know what you're saying, but regardless of who's at "fault" here (something difficult to quantify) the thing is, she's the only one that can help herself.
Everyone has a different bottom and some sadly, never make it through and/or cause harm to themselves and others in the process. It's sad, I hope she realizes she needs help before it's too late.
Chesty Pickle 07-24-2007, 01:23 PM poooooooor lohan. but seriously. there are many things to look at. i understand that you should never drive while iunder the influence, but i also think hollywood blows up celebrities problems into things that they arent. SOMETIMES, not always.
is she a drug addict? or a 20-something who occasionally does drugs? i know me and my friends have done drugs many times. i also know that some of them have been addicts but most have not.
it's like every article you read where so-and-so got into a fight with a reporter outside a nightclub. ok, if I was drunk, and a reporter was harrassing me, there's a good chance i'd push them, or tell them off, it doesnt mean im a wild party animal who's lost control. it just means im normal. how manye people do you see get in fights and arguments when you go to a club? every single time i'm out i see someone get into some sort of confrontation.
but yes, i agree, driving under the influence is a horribly stupid thing to do, and people should be punished. Jail time would do her good i think, moreso than rehab.
Sophie Treadmill 07-24-2007, 02:00 PM Yeah, most celeb things get blown out of proportion, but I don't think Linz is exhibiting the responsible behavior that is indicative of mere recreational use.
Also, word is the studio execs don't want to hire her anymore because the insurance (we're talking multi-million dollar premiums here) to cover her is just too high because she has proven she is at-risk. Even though they know she is a major box office draw, the fact that they are apprehensive about hiring her because she might cost them more money than she can bring in says a lot about her well-being and how she is viewed by those who are actually in the know.
Believe me, if anyone wants to disbelieve the tabloids and pretend she doesn't have a problem it's the studios, because she could be bringing them big money. So, when they're not willing to look the other way, it's really says something.
It doesn't sound like harmless partying when you're having so many problems with your employers (that's what the movie studios are for her) and the police.
Like I said before: Why can't these girls hire drivers? (I know, common sense and all that). Money is so wasted on the rich.
Chesty Pickle 07-24-2007, 02:34 PM no, i fully agree with you, she is beyond a tiny problem. and yes, Drivers for everyone! though the things that seem most logical to others, are seldom discovered by those in control. it seems anyways.
freshprinceofLA 07-24-2007, 04:48 PM damn what happned to her????? She seem so much like a good girl and BAM! automatic whore! Lindsey needs some serious help!
T-Greg 07-24-2007, 05:13 PM She is scheduled to be on the Tonight Show tonight? Does anyone want to guess whether she will show up? I say no. If she does, Jay should ask her flat out "What were you thinking?", just like he asked Hugh Grant after he appeared following his arrest with the BJ-giving prostitute in his car.
Superstar 07-24-2007, 05:17 PM She is scheduled to be on the Tonight Show tonight? Does anyone want to guess whether she will show up? I say no. If she does, Jay should ask her flat out "What were you thinking?", just like he asked Hugh Grant after he appeared following his arrest with the BJ-giving prostitute in his car.
She has already cancelled the appearance. Its unlikely that she'll be at her movie premiere tomorrow either.
So i guess that SCRAM ankle bracelet she's been wearing was just for show?
Seriously, I heard this news on the radio this afternoon and I laughed. Loudly.
Yeah, I'm a heartless bastard. Sue me.
Lindsay will probably face some jailtime for this - two DUIs in a matter of months AND coke possession?
From TMX.com:
"The maximum sentence she faced for the original DUI and hit and run charges was 6 months for each. Last night, Lindsay was charged with another DUI -- if convicted of both DUIs, she could face up to one year in jail. She was also charged with possession of cocaine, which is a felony and carries a maximum of three years in jail.
La Lohan is accused of driving on a suspended license as well, which carries a maximum of one year in jail. Her frenemy Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days for the same offense."
I also read that she's at some "undisclosed" rehab facility, and not that Promises place that did such a bangup job on her before.
Hopefully someone will finally grab her Mom Dina by the throat and make her take charge of her daughter for a change.
Lindsay needs to go a way for a while. Take a year or so off. Go back to Long Island for a while sweetie. Take an acting class or something at a local college. It's obvious you're not very good at being a star.
;)

Despite reports to the contrary, Lindsay Lohan is currently in Los Angeles but she is not in rehab, The Insider is reporting.
Looks like she's not in rehab...yet.
catlover79 07-24-2007, 07:30 PM Can't the courts order her into rehab??
Ireneparalegal 07-24-2007, 07:36 PM You know, I don't mean this to sound snide or as though I'm unsympathetic, because it seems obvious she has an addiction, but, just as with Paris Hilton, why can't these girls hire drivers? That's like missing the whole point of being rich.

She only went to rehab so she could look good in the court system's eyes when it is time to face the judge. That is the norm, go to rehab and get a slap on the wrist. However, she is facing some hard charges, hit & run, driving on a suspened license, possession of cocaine, a second DUI which, here in California mandates jail time.
Someone who goes to rehab can't be hanging around the same "element". You need to distance yourself from those who continue to do drugs and abuse alcohol. There is no such thing as recreational use of any substance if you are a rehabilitated person. You are never recovered. You are always "recovering". The potential for relapse will always be there, so the last thing you do is hang around a crowd of people who just want to party and get you in on that action.

Well, my point wasnt that LL isnt at fault for her own actions, only that until Hollywood cleans up its act, the pattern will keep repeating itself , so long as the temptations are there, and so easy to obtain. ( Thus my main point that it wasnt JUST her fault...but, well said, indeed :) )

Thx for the info Irene....its cool having an expert on Calif law statutes in the forum! :)
Chelsea 07-24-2007, 09:26 PM I absolutely pity Lindsay Lohan. She *is* a talented actress, but she got caught up with the party girls of Hollywood, and has become the drunken trainwreck you see before you today.

Same with you and your intelligient input. ;)
BTW, Madam Toussaud's Wax Museum has put jail house clothes on the Lindsay Lohan wax figure for today. They just showed it on the news.

Long Island is where it all started. Her brother Michael is about 100 worse than she is, except hes not a celeb so he can get away with it.

Oh goodness no, I didn't think you meant LL wasn't also at fault and sorry if it came across that way in my post. I'm with you on the Hollywood thing. I really think the old cliche about Hollywood chewing up its young and spitting them out is true.
Mikado 07-24-2007, 11:59 PM yeah...they go in smelling like roses, and are spit out, smelling like cigarette butts and sneakers ;)
catlover79 07-25-2007, 12:44 AM Somebody has got to post LL's mugshot. (I would, but I don't know how,). Did anyone see Jay Leno tonight? Since Lindsay was obviously not able to attend the show, Rob Schneider appeared "as Lindsay Lohan". For those of you who don't know, in the past Rob Schneider has appeared as various celebrities who were not able to attend their interviews with Jay - I remember he appeared as Charlie Sheen and as Richard Gere.

 Hey Cat, did you know that song was written and performed by Sonny Curtis ( Lead singer of the Crickets for a time , after Buddy Holly's death) and the Crickets? It was never a hit in the USA, but did well in Britain.
Later British singer Bobby Fuller changed the words slightly and made it into a huge international hit! :) ( His fame didnt last long though, he was found dead in his car...officially a suicide, but, ALL the evidence says murder/cover-up* )
*likely a mob hit....he was having an affair with a mobsters GF

Mikado 07-25-2007, 09:44 PM Now every time I hear that song I'm going to think about the bit o trivia you gave us. I never knew the story behind it. Thanks.
 Sorry about that....well, just try to concentrate on the song, not the story behind it  ;)
But, as long as I'm AT it....
About the words that were slightly changed, in the original Crickets recording, the words were " Robbing people with a ZIP-gun*, i fought the law and the law won..."
The Bobby Fuller 4 changed that to "Robbing people with a Six gun , i fought the law and the law won..." Thus changing the song from a song about teen delinquents, to a "western" theme ( See the video and youll know what i mean )
*Zip-guns were rubber band powered guns made of wood that could shoot anything from rocks to actual bullets, if you set them up for it. They were used by "delinquents" back in the times before teens could get hold of REAL guns.
Sophie Treadmill 07-25-2007, 09:47 PM Interesting! I love trivia!

Not at all! Lindsay, you're loved, but your partying days are numbered! Lose the club fools, grow up, take responsibility for your misconduct, serve whatever sentence the judge hands down aganst you, get your butt back to New York and get help. Right now, you're too immature for Los Angeles life and you can't handle the scenes there. You need to be back in New York, getting help before you even consider going back in front of the camera again.
Mikado 07-25-2007, 10:19 PM Well said, Dynomite
Ireneparalegal 07-25-2007, 10:35 PM She better serve WAY MORE TIME THAN PARIS EVER DID. Can you imagine if she doesn't?
Sophie Treadmill 07-25-2007, 10:36 PM I say send her to the middle of Iowa for awhile, living in complete anonymity. Go somewhere that people don't really know or care if they do know, who she is. The paps aren't going to travel there and hang out to catch her every move.
I know it's a silly suggestion, but I do wish she's seek anonymity (if you really want it, it can be done, but you have to make sacrifices, like not living in LA or NY and partying with others that attract the paparazzi).
Ireneparalegal 07-25-2007, 10:50 PM Why oh why did she go to Promises in Malibu???? That is just a resort. They don't treat ADDICTION. The owners have already stated they don't believe in drug or alcohol addiction (RED FLAG). They take you for $50 grand and then pamper you and show you the door. THEY DON'T TREAT ADDICTION. The only thing PROMISES promises you is that THEY PROMISE YOU WILL BE BACK...spending another $50,000.
She should have gone where addictions are treated.

On second thought, Id rather have Hillary Duff :p

Actually, Michael Lohan, this week, came off his high horse and took responsibility for his initial misconduct, when he spoke about his daughter, Lindsay, on CNN's Larry King: Live, two days ago. Her mother, Dina Lohan, is still a bad influence on her children by choosing to party with them instead of putting her foot down and saying "No" to partying. Don't forget, Dina Lohan attempted to make a reality TV show out of her abominable lifestyle, which obviously includes Lindsay, so Dina should be ashamed of herself for being a bad mother with the kind of behavior she's been displaying. Michael Lohan needs to accept some blame to, but unlike his estranged wife, Dina, he's finally taking responsibility for his actions, as was the case this week on Larry King: Live. No matter how you look at it, Lindsay Lohan needs to grow up and take responsibility for her own misconduct-she can't blame others for her own foolishness, any longer.

Dina Lohan Slams Jay Leno
Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina Lohan has hit out at talk show host Jay Leno for mocking the starlet's drunk driving arrest on his show. Lohan was due to appear on The Tonight Show just hours after she was detained by police for DUI on Tuesday night. Comedian Rob Schneider stood in, dressed as the actress, and he and Leno poked fun at the troubled star in her absence. In an email to Access Hollywood, Dina Lohan has expressed her disappointment with the show. She wrote, "We have a great respect for Jay Leno but we are disappointed in the path he chose to allow a guest to make light of a very serious situation concerning Lindsay. This is a very personal and private matter and our only concern is to get Lindsay the help that she needs. We will get through this together and it will make our family stronger." Dina, meanwhile, praised late night talk show host Craig Ferguson for not mentioning Lindsay on his show: "Thank you to Craig Ferguson for not making a mockery of such a serious situation to which teens and young adults are facing across the country! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all families who have had to see a family member through tough times."

Poor Dina...She has no trouble benefitting from the money her daughter has made, but everyone is supposed to treat her daughter with kid gloves. These Hollywood types are so thin-skinned. If she doesn't want people talking about her daughter, then don't do things which make people talk about her! Where was Dina when her daughter started doing drugs? So, she is finally trying to act like a mother?

Don't bet the house on Dina Lohan behaving like a parent! Obviously, she's still exploiting her daughter for her own personal publicity(Shame on you, Dina). Jay Leno and Rob Schneider, making fun of Lindsay Lohan after her latest arrest, was obviously in bad taste and wasn't really necessary, but at the same time, Dina Lohan should've stayed off Craig Ferguson's show, entirely. She's definitely not helping matters at all, behaving like this. Lindsay Lohan has enough problems with the law to deal with without having to deal with her own mother behaving like a absolute grandstander, especially on national television. I agree with you, T-Greg, this is an absolute abomination.
freshprinceofLA 07-27-2007, 09:09 PM wow she went all out on this one she chased her assistant on the freeway b/c of an arguement that resulted in the assistant quiting and tried to go after the assistants mom and also from what I just saw on the news a witness said that she ran over his foot! She deserves to be thrown in jail:mad: this better not end up like the paris hilton sentence BS
Ireneparalegal 07-27-2007, 09:18 PM Lindsay may be charged with carjacking as well. When she chased after her assistant's mother, she did so by means of carjacking a vehicle with three young men (I believe they are around 20 years of age). She ended up running over the foot of one of the young men when she was forcing him out of the car's driver side and making threats to them that she "is a celebrity and they can't do anything to her because she won't get in trouble..." These young men happen to be friends of a friend of Lindsay's assistant. They were trying to calm Lindsay down and persuade her to stop but she insisted on chasing her assistant's mother.
These young men appeared on the news last night and the one whose foot got run over was taken to the emergency room for injuries to that foot.

Mikado 07-28-2007, 04:05 AM Excerpt from Dawsongirl's newscommentary above
"It’s hopeless to argue that we shouldn’t pay attention to this silly, spoiled girl when there are real issues to address, because the reality is that we will. So let’s pay the right kind of attention. Let’s make her an icon of our disgust, an example of when enough is enough, a symbol of what we as a society will neither accept nor tolerate. Let’s use her to demonstrate how tough the criminal law and the criminal justice system can be, not how easily it can be manipulated by those with money and connections."
It will NEVER happen!

TMZ has interviewed three men who were along for the ride--both literally and figuratively--during Lohan's DUI meltdown, who share the story of their harrowing experience as hostages of the road-raging starlet. The Today Show has condensed much of the story into an easily digestible video package (see the clip above), but you'll want to read TMZ's four-part epic, dramatic scenes from which are excerpted here:
According to the group, Lindsay suddenly jumped in the driver's seat of the Denali, started the engine and began driving -- chasing the assistant's car. Ronnie says he was so fearful, he jumped out of the vehicle as it accelerated. Just as he hit the ground, he says Lindsay ran over his foot and just kept going.
Dante and Jakon say Lindsay then hit Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Dante says he tried to grab the wheel, prompting Lindsay to say, "If you touch me I'll sue you." Jakon says they pleaded with her to stop. [...]
Dante says they were going 100 MPH. They say Lindsay caught up with the assistant and began doing circles on PCH, around the assistant's car.
They say at one point, Lindsay boasted, "I can't get in trouble. I'm a celebrity. I can do whatever the f**k I want." [...]
Dante realized the mother was driving to the police station and warned Lindsay if she didn't stop she'd get in hot water. He says Lindsay responded, "I'm a celebrity. I'm not going to get in trouble."
The two cars stopped in a parking lot near the cop shop. When police arrived, Dante says it seemed as if Lindsay told officers, "I wasn't driving. The black kid was driving."
Dante and Jakon say they saw Lindsay flunk the field sobriety test. They say when she tried touching her nose, she almost fell over.
The report makes no mention of which of the three guys Lohan has accused of being the owner of the coke-pants she somehow found herself wearing prior to her carjacking of the Denali (our guess is it will be the white kid, as she'll probably want to racially balance her finger-pointing a bit), but we expect a "family insider" to provide this missing piece of the blame-deflecting puzzle in a sitdown with ET later this evening.

FactoryGirl 09-14-2007, 02:27 PM I'm not going to join in the Lindsay bash, all I can say is that Lindsay needs help right away. Her movie career isn't over to me because there have been stars who have done worse than her and yet, their career is still intact.
Lindsay isn't the first star to depend on drugs, booze, and the nightlife, hell, there were stars back in the 1950's and 1960's that did the same thing Lindsay's doing now, so it's nothing new.
Calling the girl a 'whore' is low and really is pushing it.

I think the main difference though, is that the stars of the 50's and 60s didnt have the help available to them that LL has today*, yet seems to discount as if it were a joke, like when she laughed off her ankle transmitter as just a new fashion accessory. She seems to have no embarrassment over the things she did at ALL, doesnt seem to care who she hurts, and seems happy to keep laughing in the face of society as long as she can get away with it.
* in some cases, stars in the old "Studio days" were hooked on drugs on the studios bequest, such as Judy Garland who, at age 16, was handed a bottle of diet pills ( AKA Speed ) by MGM studio head Louis B Mayer who told her he didnt want any "fat" leading Ladies at HIS studio!

That is sad about Judy Garland, if only help was available for her, she might be alive today, same with Dorthory Danridge...
But, I have a HUGE soft spot for the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie. because I was once those girls. I was the party animal who did drugs, drunk a lot of booze and etc at such a very young age. I didn't take the law NOR life seriously, not even after seeing my friends die from drug overdoses and suicide. I have been to rehab so many times, my dad and my stepmother tried to help, and I even almost died when I was 19 but yet I didn't care....until my twin sister died. My twin was the 'good' twin, I thought nothing would happen to her. Her death and meeting my husband turned my life around completely. I pushed too many people that I love(d) away, it was time for me to do something with my life.
This is why I have faith and defend girls like Lindsay and sometimes Paris, they can change, and I hope they do before it's too late.

Six years clean! Before that, I would have put Lindsay and Paris to shame! If it wasn't for my husband(who was also a party animal/drug abuser), I would have been dead. He's nine years clean.
Ireneparalegal 09-15-2007, 12:50 AM I applaud anyone who cleans up their act. <<<<oops, maybe that is not the appropriate smilie. Just kidding. I know that drug users and alcohol abusers are worthy of sympathy. I had my drama with my late husband and I tell you, the change that man made after I divorced him was a long and struggling one. Kudos to those who make it out alive! I never had sympathy for those who chose to do such things, but once those things get a hold of you, you are dealing with demons. I guess I had to go through it with my ex-husband to learn to have sympathy. I feel for those who can't see the path they are leading.

I'm glad you got out of there okay and i'm glad he changed for the better because let me tell you, it's not easy. I started partying in middle school with my older brother. He would take me all over L.A and Vegas to so many parties. We were a mess and the company we kept was a mess also, in fact, my brother was there at the Viper club the night River Phoenix died. My brother would meet the same death in 1996. That fueled me to party hard even more.
I met the sweetest person during those times. She was my English teacher in high school and she really cared for me. I cared for her too but I sadly pushed her away and I would do anything to have that back. I screwed up relationships, stole money from my father and did things with scumballs draped in Versace suits that I later try to forget.
I got clean in September of 2001, my relationships is repaired(most of them anyway..) but the one relationship I would never get back, my grandpa. He died before I got the chance to tell him i'm thankful for him and how sorry I was. Him and my grandmother was the most heartbroken, and I would do anything to erase my hard lifestyle/

You know, I never thought of it. I would probably break down and cry when going into detail. Trust me I learned, everyday when I look at my beautiful kids, I thank god that I didn't die and got clean. My husband though, wants me to change jobs since he's changed his(he was a club promoter now he's in real estate) but I can handle it now, I just don't join in with the crowd.
Lindsay does sometimes go into the clubs I d.j, but that's all I can say...
