Tell me what you think...
Alexz Bonner quickly shut her alarm off and prayed that no one had woken up.
Across the room, Rachel Stevens stirred and said in her sleep, "I thought credit card machines went click-click. Not beep-beep!" She then rolled over and went back whatever it was she was dreaming about.
Alexz climbed out of bed, fully dressed and snuck downstairs to the living room where Mrs. Garrett was sleeping. She had heard many stories about Mrs. Garrett's keen sense of hearing, so she decided not to take her chances. At the foot of the stairs, she sat down and started untying her shoes. "Better safe than sorry," she thought. With shoes in hand, Erica Alexzandra Marie Bonner slipped out of the front door, and into the cold Autumn night, blonde ponytail bouncing as she went.
* * * Jo Bonner flopped over one more time and sighed a sound-less sigh. She had had a strange feeling all night. SHe felt like something was wrong with Alexz.
She got out of bed, threw on her robs and walked across the hall to her old room.
"I'm sure nothing's wrong," she thought. "It'll be like the first few months after she was in the gang. I'll be worried." She opened the door silently and surveyed the room that had been her home since her Langley days. "Time has flown by." She thought back to the time when she thought a college education was impossible. "Huh! I showed them!" She saw Rachel flip over and there was Alexz. "Buried under the pillows like Rick." WIth that thought, she closed the door and went back to bed.
* * * The crisp Autumn wind slapped against Alexz's cheek. She barely noticed the wind as much as the noise she made when her tennis shoes crunched over the leaves. "Just as long I don't get caught," she said in a whisper.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her behind a tree. Her screams were muffled by the hand that was clamped tightly over her mouth.
"Shhh!" A voice she didn't recognize said. "If you fight, you'll get hurt. Come with me." The hand led her to an old warehouse across the street. Another hand opened the door, they went in, and the voice said harshly, "Sit!" Alexz sat. "If I let you go, will you promise not to scream?" Alexz nodded and the hand let up.
Alexz looked at the man towering above her. "This guys tall!" SHe thought. She didn't say that much because she was pretty tall at 5' 4". "This guy must be at least 6' 9". She felt her hands and feet being bound to the chair she was sitting in. "Go ahead. Tie me up!" She said aloud. "My parents will find me and then you'll be finished!"
The man looked down at her. "Oh, little one This is only the beginning!'
