I want to know what is the definative scene or moment that perfectly defines a character from my favorite series, which is of course MASH!

Let's start with my favorite character, which is of course the great and powerful Dr. Benjamin Franklin Pierce, otherwise known as Hawkeye - what makes him so darn great, worthy of my highest praise?

Wow, so much to choose from...

Off the top of my head, a perfect example is from "Dear Dad" from season one: Hawkeye drops into a combat zone dressed as Santa Claus to perform emergency surgery on a wounded soldier: Hawkeye did what he had to do, and if he added some sort of wierd take on spreading Christmas cheer, then all the better. He made a foxhole full of grunts believe in Santa Claus.

Anyone have other examples of Hawkeye's greatness?
