It was just pointed out to me another board that, in terms of the show, it's 1987 their time! I knew it had been 20 years since it was originally aired, but I didn't think about it being 1987 in Kevin Arnold's world.

Now there's an interesting place to start some fan fiction. I actually haven't looked at the fan fiction threads here, but I'm sure someone has something. Anyway, when I realized what year it is "their" time it made me old.

I suggested elsewhere that 1987 would be a good place to stop the series. That was the year music started to go downhill with the likes of Tiffany and Debbie Gibson (my apologies to any fans of those artists). Plus, it was the year I left junior high for senior high school; I felt I fit in in junior high better. (I felt Kevin fit in to junior high as well as there are but a handful of episodes I'll watch from the final two years of the show.) I have always thought if it being a "quantity thing" with shows getting more episodes being more loved in Hollywood, and TWY would be close to, if not over, the 500 episode plateau focusing on Kevin in 1987/2007.
