Meet the new ADA British actor Linus Roache has been tapped to play the new Assistant D.A. on "Law & Order." Roache is best known here for co-starring on the short-lived NBC series "Kidnapped" - along with Jeremy Sisto, who's joining "L&O" as cop Cyrus Lupo.

Roache, 43, replaces Sam Wa terston's Jack McCoy, who's been bumped up to D.A. now that Fred Thomp son, who played D.A. Arthur Branch, has left the show for an expected presidential run.

Roache's new "L&O" char acter doesn't have a name yet, but there's plenty of time for that, since the show doesn't return until midseason.
