I just finished reading "Love Lucy" cover to cover without stopping. What a great book written by Lucy in her own words with her own humor.

It really shed some light on what she went through in her life; it wasn't an easy rise to stardom. You could really tell that she loved Desi but she just couldn't take it anymore. What a strong woman!

Now I want to get Vivian's autobiography next. Has anyone else read it?

I have read that book and Vivian's biography - both very interesting reads!! Another book about the life of Lucy & Desi I think you'd enjoy is Lucy & Desi: The Legendary Love Story of Television's Most Famous Couple by Warren G. Harris.

Thanks, Cat!
My pleasure! I also really enjoyed Life After Lucy, which is the autobiography of Keith Thibodeaux (Little Ricky). That is a fascinating read.

Has anyone ever read Meet the Mertzes:The Life Stories of I Love Lucy's Other Couple? If so is it any good? I was thinking of picking that one up.

I did read that one a couple of years back, and it is very interesting as well. William Frawley's rabid love of baseball was written into Fred Mertz, and it goes into his vaudeville days as well. They also do a credible job of covering Vivian Vance's marriages (before finding lasting love with husband #3) and her relationship with Lucy. Pick it up! :D

There's also another book "I Love Lucy" celebrating 50 years of love and laughter by Elisabeth Edwards. It has some great pictures in it. I got mine through a used bookstore for under $10 and have really enjoyed it.

I have "Love, Lucy" and "The Other Side of Ethel Mertz." I've read them both a few times over the years. Great books! :) However, I don't think Vivian Vance wrote an autobiography. I couldn't find one on Amazon.

According to "The I Love Lucy Book" by Bart Andrews Vivian Vance did write an autobiography but after completing it she had a change of heart and decided not to publish it.
