(OK, where we left off: Natalie's on the beach [although there hasn't been any scenes with her... YET!! hehe), Blair's off shopping [once again, her scenes'll be in this part], Mrs. G ran into Molly Parker, and Jo and Tootie went to a movie studio where Jo's the new face and Tootie's *really* upset. It might be a little long because, if you've read my other posts, I've been meaning to post it for days but I always get sidetracked and over those three days I got a lot more ideas! hehe, enough disclaimers, just enjoy!!)
Mrs. Garrett: Molly, I can't believe it's you!
Molly: It's been a while, hasn't it?
Mrs. Garrett: Sure has... What have you been doing these years?
Molly: I got some movie roles... you know, some huge parts, some little parts, everything in between. How come you're here? Retirement already?
Mrs. Garrett: Hardly! (laughs a little) I just took Blair, Jo, Nat and Tootie for a little two-week vacation. Blair and Jo... you remember Jo, don't you?
Molly: Didn't she ride up on some motorcycle?
Mrs. Garrett: That's her. Anyway, they just graduated from Eastland and Tootie and Nat still go there, but it's summer vacation now and I suggested we went somewhere. Tootie wanted to go to Hollywood for some "big break" she's expecting to get, and the others said it was a good idea so... (takes a breath) here we are.
Molly: Where are they?
Mrs. Garrett: From what I know, Blair went shopping. Natalie went to the beach to work on some screenplay she's writing, and Jo and Tootie went to some movie studio.
Molly: Well, tell them I say Hi. I've actually got to run if I don't want to be late to rehearsal, but I'll catch you around, okay Mrs. Garrett?
Mrs. Garrett: All right, Molly.
(Molly leaves. Mrs. Garrett sighs and looks after Molly)
Mrs. Garrett: I wonder if she ever thinks she made a mistake leaving Eastland at twelve years old... and she never did give me directions on how to not get lost...
(The movie studio)
Tootie: This is not fair!
Jo: I didn't do anything wrong, Tootie.
Tootie (sarcastically): That's right. You didn't. You just HAPPENED to have to come with me to a place where I'd be the fresh face if it wasn't for you!
Jo: Tootie, don't be mad... (sees Tootie's furious face and rethinks)... okay, be mad, but it's not my fault.
Tootie: Oh sure!
Jo (pausing, trying to think of something to say) I'll... uh...
Tootie: Give me your autograph when you're rich and famous, that's what you'll do! You'll remember me as Tootie Ramsey, the 'little kid' at your boarding school!
Jo: Tootie...!
(Tootie glares at her for one second, her eyes filled with tears. She then runs off as the director comes over and looks at Jo)
Director: Shall we get to work?
Jo: I don't know.
(the beach)
Nat: I've got flashbacks within a flashback, I've got drama, I've got comedy, I've got anything but romance!
(She looks up to see a guy in front of her holding some paper)
Nat: Can you help me?
Guy: My name's Mike. I heard you talking to yourself and I.. uh...
Nat: Want to help me?
Mike: If you want me to.
Nat: So, do you have a girlfriend?
Mike: Nope.
Natalie: How does one sound?
Mike: Do you know anyone who wants a boyfriend?
Nat: Uhh... umm... (sighs dreamily)... I know this one girl - her name's Natalie Green. Never had a boyfriend, always wants one and...
Mike: Is she around here?
Natalie: I don't think I've introduced myself. My name's Natalie Green.
Mike: You're the girl you were describing?
Nat: That'd be me.
Mike: Well then let me sit down here so I can help you with your screenplay... (puts his paper down) and you can help me with mine...
(Natalie sighs dreamily again)
(Blair shopping)
Blair: This hat for Natalie... this t-shirt for Tootie, these sunglasses for Mrs. G... suntan lotion for Jo... and all this for me.
(she goes to check out)
Cashier: That'll be $333.45.
Blair: Do you mind in cash?
Cashier: As opposed to credit cards.
(Blair hands her the money, picks up her bag, and leaves the store)
(the movie studio, once again)
Director: I want you to stand here and look sort of... thoughtful but...
(Jo sighs)
Jo: This isn't for me.
Director: What do you mean?
Jo: I'm not a future "fresh face".
Director: I'm never wrong on who I pick.
Jo: Until now. I'm going to go tell Tootie - she's that other girl - she's all yours.
Director: But... but...
Jo: You'll be right for my pick.
(she goes to find Tootie. She finds her in a corner, goes over to her, and waits for Tootie to look up)
Jo: I backed out.
Tootie: Why?
Jo: It's not for me. I'd rather do something better in my life than movies.
Tootie: So it's for me?
Jo: Go over there and show yourself off. You deserve it.
(Later, at the hotel)
Natalie: So listen to this. I'm sitting there, writing a screenplay and this guy comes over and asks me if I want some help on my screenplay.
Tootie: I hope you said yes!
Natalie: No, Tootie, I'd pass up on the wonderful oppurtunity. (sighs dreamily again) Of course I said yes.
Jo: Well, I backed out of a movie.
Tootie: And gave it to me. The director said we'd finish production in the two weeks so by the time we return they'd be almost ready to release the movie.
Mrs. Garrett: My little Tootie!
Natalie: No, Mrs. G... *our* little Tootie!
(everyone laughs as...
~the end!~ what did you think? feedback would be appreciated!!)
Mrs. Garrett: Molly, I can't believe it's you!
