If you stop and think about it and take a good look at this site, there's really not much more that you can add to it that would improve it. It's already got most of the essential features that you would expect to find in any site: information, news, message boards, photo galleries, blogs, links, DVD releases. That's fairly impressive. So what's missing? For one thing, I agree with the idea of having seperate message boards for each sport, as long as you don't have fans of one sport trashing fans of another sport.

Another thing I've noticed is that the site has very little video content. I think something should be done about it. Since this site is about sitcoms, I think we should have a video gallery that is sitcom related. What I'd like to see is something like this:

---Complete episodes of popular sitcoms from the 1950s to today

---Short 5-10 minute scenes of memorable sitcom episodes

---Commercials

---Promos

---Previews of new episodes

---Short clips in the News Blog which emphasize a particular point

---Clips which feature the opening and closing credits and the theme song

---Rare footage which hasn't been seen in syndication

---Extras which are found in DVD releases

---Links to other sites which would have videos of that sitcom

---One more thing: All videos should be seen anywhere in the world!

(Thank you, AOL!!   )

It might take a while to put together but I believe it would be worth the wait.

(In the meantime, check out my signature to watch some great classic sitcoms for free!)

---Complete episodes of popular sitcoms from the 1950s to today

Copyright issues. Bigtime.

---Short 5-10 minute scenes of memorable sitcom episodes

Still copyright issues here, but they're not as overwhelming as on #1, and this is mildly possible.

---Commercials

Probably not. Those of us in a position to create content for the site don't necessarily have the material to make a commercal archive. (A lot of copies of shows we have being from reruns, 90s/00s syndication, or DVD releases). Sorry.

---Promos

Again, how are we supposed to get ahold of these?

---Previews of new episodes

I'm not sure about this one. It's possible, but would probably require some negotiations with studios.

---Short clips in the News Blog which emphasize a particular point

Most news blog posts tend to be either schedule change announcements or DVD information. I don't see where short clips would add anything, the news blog is already fairly informative. (And as for Solomon's rant on Saturdays, it's up to him to provide content).

---Clips which feature the opening and closing credits and the theme song

We've already got a lot of those. We'd have more, but in many cases the footage isn't available, plus it does take time to make clips.

---Rare footage which hasn't been seen in syndication

And exactly where do you think we're going to get this? We're not going to create clips from the DVD releases, and it's not like the studios are going to hand us master copies of sets to make material from. And as I already mentioned, a lot of stuff that myself, Todd, etc. DO have copies from...most isn't from original broadcast.

---Extras which are found in DVD releases

Absolutely not. You want the extras, buy the DVD. Sitcoms Online already offers DVD sales through Amazon - one of the cheaper retailers out there, by the way.

---Links to other sites which would have videos of that sitcom.

If you want to see a particular site added as a link, email TJ (todd@sitcomsonline.com).

---One more thing: All videos should be seen anywhere in the world!

(Thank you, AOL!!   )

The video gallery isn't happening, but at the very least, if it did go up, we'd make every effort to make sure all countries could access it. :) Unfortunately, a lot of times it's the rights holders, not the content providers, who force country-locks on their content, as their copyrights on the content in other countries may not be the same as it is in the States.

(I apologize if I came off too harshly, but Sitcoms Online could actually get into legal trouble for posting a lot of what you suggested [Welcome to America]. As such, it's just not happening. Sorry)
