PipersPost ripped off a true trading friend of mine for $160 cash.
He sold my friend a four disk miniseries for $40 a disk. The friend, who doesn't have a computer, sent the disks to me to do computer backups for him since his duplicator choked on them.
Although the picture and sound quality is quite nice, all four disks are useless garbage because they break up and go blocky and freeze up during play, they're riddled with CRC errors, and they're uncopyable by four different computer drives. All four disks!
(Please, no comments on the wisdom of paying that much for a show, he deserves to be ripped off, etc etc blah blah blah. The buyer and the seller agreed on a price. The seller assured quality. The buyer had good reason to believe, and so he bought, just like buying something for $160 from a total stranger on eBay based on the description and the seller's reputation. He got ripped off. Now back to our story... )
We complained, so PipersPost sent him a single disk with the entire six hours on it, blocky, digital, overcompressed garbage, and told him that this disk was his own master, from which he had made the first four disks! The four disks, although skippy and uncopyable, have a very nice picture, and there's no way they were made from that single garbage disk.
(Sidebar: Desperate and tripping over his own lies, James told me that my friend ASKED him to deck-to-deck copy the show across four disks for $160 instead of copying the one disk for $40 ... I just about peed my pants!)
Now PipersPost says he can't do any more since he already gave my friend his "master" and besides, he doesn't want this show anymore... a rare and excellent show he has no doubt sold for hatefully outrageous profits many times in the past and will surely sell many more times in the future.
He refuses to admit he lied about that one garbage disk being his master, and keeps insisting that there is no more he can do. And of course, he refuses to make a refund.
I always thought he was just a greedy yet perhaps mostly honest seller, but now I see that PipersPost is a snake, a liar, a cheat, and a thief.
