I searched on the forum for anything on this, and couldn't find anything. I just seen this case today for the first time and was wondering if anyone had heard of any updates, and what is your belief of what happened.

My theory (s) is perhaps that Michael was indeed murdered and perhaps hasn't been found yet. But I'm also leaning towards him also killing his girlfriend but it's weird that he would be a "serial killer". As there was a couple also murdered in the same area a couple years before. Also, was he that inconsiderate of his little girl that he would leave her abandoned in front of a store?

Actually I believe his last name was Reimer. I recently sent a copy of this story to some of Diana's relatives and Mike is still "missing". I definitely think Reimer killed Diane Robertson. He had a history of abusing her and if a killer came into the remote part of the woods just as they happened to be there he wouldn't have murdered Diane and took Mike with him. I do think its also possible that Mike could have killed the other couple previously too. Both woman had the sock tied on them and the couple was found near a place where Mike kept his traps. Maybe he saw them there and thought they were stealing something from them and flew into a rage. He was known to have a violent temper.

The fact that the little girl was brought to the supermarket and that she said her "mommy was in the trees" tells me Michael did indeed kill Diana. UM never elaborated if their daughter said anything about who brought her to the store or where her daddy was.

I'm torn on this one. While it is suspicious that Mike Reimer's remains have never been found, I'm not sure why he would leave his truck out in the woods, never coming back for it. Also, how did the daughter get to the store if the truck never left the woods, which appears that way?

Granted Reimer was a survivalist, but would probably be in his 60's at this point, so surviving out in the wilderness would be increasingly difficult with increasing age.

Then there's the note, which is puzzling. To me, it suggests that they got to Reimer first, and Reimer sensed they were both in trouble, and left a final message to Diane. Unless that's just what Reimer wants us to think.

It appears that all 3 confirmed deaths (a fourth one possible) were done by the same person, which IMO qualifies as serial killer status. This reminds me of cases like Angela Hammond and the New England serial killer cases, in that it appears that the killer stalks locations and not specific victims. Granted Reimer knew of the area, but I wouldn't imagine he was the only one that knew about it.

In addition, it seems that most serial killers have the same motive in all of their killings. For example, the New England serial killer was rumored to have hated women. If Reimer were guilty, it appears that he would have had different motives for the two sets of killings. Possibly, but a tad out of the norm, if you can call it that.

I'm not saying I'm 100% sure Reimer is a victim himself, but there are a number of things that prevent me from saying he's 100% guilty at this point, unless new evidence ever surfaces to suggest otherwise.

I completely forgot the truck still being in the woods. It's just odd that the killer whoever it was would bring the child to the grocery store instead of killing her too (forgive me if that sounds cruel because I don't mean it to sound that way). After all, the little girl even though she was only 2, would have still been a potential witness....unless there was more than one person involved.

Judging from the title of this thread, I take it that you inadvertantly mixed two names into one: Michael Reimer and Keith Reinhard. The latter was a Colorado man who told some townspeople that he was going to climb a mountain, and then disappeared.
