I'll go with Endora. Yes, she was a colossal pain and nag, but Endora deep down had the best of intentions. She also had a terrific sense of humor and fun. Phyllis was just a nag, plain and simple. She didn't have a sense of humor at all. She was almost as annoying as Gladys #2. I'd rather have Endora as a mother-in-law any day!! :lol:

Uhhh, that's a hard one as I wouldn't want to be on Endora's bad side LOL. I'll pick Endora, she was strong and could be nice on occasion. She did have a good sense of humor.

I'd go with Endora too, she'd be the most fun mother-in-law. lol!

I've always loved Endora. She's chic, smart and sassy. I like the fact that she's powerful and bossy--she's a know it all...well...because she knows it all! Considering the magnitude of her powers shes extremely tolerant of Darrin. Sometimes, I think Darrin's a real clod. When is he going to realize he married UP?

As for Phyllis. She reminds me of Mother Jefferson with a bad case of constipation. I'd call Phyllis dull but she's not that exciting. Every time I see Phyllis kvetching on an episode, I feel like saying "you poor dear. Did the surgery go OK?" "What surgery." "To remove the bug up your ass!"

Boy, Mabel Albertson sure had the role of annoying mother-in-law down pat. She also gives well done portrayals as Don Hollinger's mom on That Girl.

I'd also have to go with Endora. Phyllis was a nag and condescending towards Sam. I think she disliked Samantha as much as Endora disliked Darrin. The only difference was, she couldn't turn Samantha into an artichoke. But I'm sure she would if she could. :lol:

Samantha never gave Phyllis a reason to dislike her. Sam was a model daughter-in-law (and Frank sure seemed to love her). So I don't know why Phyllis was so rough on Sam. Phyllis sure deserved to get "sick headaches"! :lol:

I think that the reason Phyllis gave Samantha a hard time was because she was afraid that Darrin would love her less that he loved Samantha. It was simply a case of new wife vs. old mother. She admitted that in Episode 14 "Samantha Meets the Folks". But it got worse when Endora came into the picture. That's when the conflict escalated. Now Phyllis was basically damning Samantha's family, hence the remarks in the Season 5 episode "Mrs. Stephens, Where Are You?"

For Mother-in-law, Endora has my vote because she knew how to put Mrs. Stephens and everyone else in their place.

Endora for me. I love how Agnes Moorhead played her. She was certainly amazing. I couldnt stand phylis at all. always so annoying. God help me if i ever have a mother in law like that.
