Ugh guys... this is horrible. I was at the movies last night with a friend when one of my best friends called me, hysterical. This kid that we know and had hung out with a few times forced her into the backseat of her car and raped her, then threatened to kill her several times if she ever told the cops and if I said something, said he'd "get me" too. She called me because she didn't know what to do, she wanted to go to the cops but was petrified. I left the movies right away and we went to the hospital to get a rape kit done, and they provided her with antibiotics incase the scum had an STD, and the morning-after pill incase he could have gotten her pregnant.

We were at the hospital from midnight-5:30 this morning, then the police station from 5:30-10 this morning to make statements and have CSI process her car. Because she called me first as well as me knowing the kid, I was the first complaintent... they had to take all my info, my SSN, my statement, so if this goes to court I'm going to be subpoenaed. We were able to give ample descriptions, first names/aliases, the street he lived on. He wasn't in any of the mugshots we looked at, but I really hope the cops pick this guy up and he goes to jail. My heart breaks for Britt, she's like my sister to me. This whole thing is a nightmare.

Please pray for both of us... mostly for her, but for me too. I've never been wrapped up in an investigation like this before and frankly, it makes me nervous... but I'm going to step up and do whatever I need to do to help her.

What a horrible thing to have to deal with, I am glad she has such a reliable and carryign friend to be there with her through this.

How old was the guy who did this? I really hope they throw the book at him but it is never enough to pay for the damage he has caused.

Your friend Britt will need tons of support and sounds like she already has alot from you. I hope you and Britt find all the strength you need during the recovery process.

Karly, you and your friend are in my thoughts and prayers. Your friend is going to need a lot to get through this, but you're a great friend, and having you there for her will go a long way.

i'm so glad you went to the police. rapists who make such threats to their victims don't realize that the police can protect those victims from anyone who is threatening them, and unfortunately, many of the victims don't realize it either.

i hope she can get some kind of help to get through this emotionally, and the guy ends up in jail for a long time. that's so disgusting and sad.

Thank God you both did the right thing. Scum like that need to know they can't go around raping girls and threatening them. I pray she will recover from this nightmare. The emotional toll I am sure will be one that will take a very long time for her to recover from, if at all. Thank God she survived. Too many bastards rape and kill their victims. I am sorry she had to suffer such a traumatic "experience". I am also thankful she had you for a friend to run to. I am sure you will do your best to help her through this. Thank you guys so much. I feel bad worrying about myself when she's going through all this, but no one's ever threatened to kill me before. I'm worried.

Thing is, she has no family. Her father lives in Boston, her mom in South Carolina, she lives with her older brother near me, who's an alcoholic... we met in NA, so she's struggling with addiction as well... she came up here from BTown to try and straighten out... I don't want her falling off the deep end. They don't have health insurance, so I'm trying to see if she can get MassHealth or something. I want her to see my psychiatrist. This whole thing is such a mess, I love her so much.

Sorry to hear of this, but, you made the right decision going to the Police....the next time he might be even more violent and someone could wind up dead....I hope he goes to prison a long time.

Hi, Karly, sorry I hadn't posted sooner, so wrapped up in my rock and roll festivities these past couple days, I just found out about this now. This is so sad that you and your family and friends have had to endure all this insanity for so long all year or so. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend, this is so terrible, just unthinkable. And I am so sorry that I've been late in responding to this, I want you to know that I am thinking of you all the time and wanting the best for you in everything. I don't want to seem in any way insensitive to whatever you're going through. It is so hard to think of your friend being so violated and threatened with cruelty. For a young person, this messes up their lives no end. We have all had these experiences, even myself when I was younger, when we were abused and molested, or worse, that affects our lives we are not even aware of. I pray that God would intervene in her trauma, bring peace and help her back on the way to wholeness. I also hope and pray that the subhuman slime who did this will taste justice and have their punishment meted out a thousand times over what they did to her. I hope that she would find counselling and support in this situation. I don't know what to say, this is such a messed-up deal that I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.
