i'm watching it now. i missed the first minute or so but from what i can tell, the cuts really don't seem all that different from the N@N ones, which weren't too bad at all.

The ep that's on now is kind of boring because it's ALL BASEBALL, doesnt really have a sitcom feel. This is my first time seeing this ep

These aren't the best episodes to be airing first for ION, but oh well, it still is Who's the Boss?. And I found the editing done by ION to be wonderful. There's only 2 commercial breaks, and they even left intact the full theme song. I had forgotten that they had almost a totally different sounding theme for the sixth season, so it was cool to see again, since NAN never bothered to show it when they aired the show.

Makes no sense they treat Alice like crap with 8 commercial breaks but no WTB-lol I just don't get it

Maybe they have higher hopes for Who's the Boss?
It's the same way with The Wonder Years. Just last night I was watching, and they skipped about 30 seconds of the opening credits, then aired a commercial 2 minutes later. Then it came back on for 3 minutes, and another commercial was on. It really doesn't make sense at all!

Another thing you need to remember--WTB was already chopped down to current commercial standards (time) in the recent past so ION may not have had to introduce any additional edits. Alice on the other hand hasn't run in quite some time so more of it needs to be chopped out (commercial time allotted per episode now is quite a bit more than was back in the mid-late '70s, and even from the '90s when Alice was last rerun)

I am definitely watching WTB on ION! I was so happy to see it on. I haven't seen the show is years so it brings back some nice memories. Unfortunately, I was never able to get it on tape then. I have season 1 on dvd, but that's all. Too bad season 2 probably won't be coming out. :(

I've been taping "Designing Women", and I will definitely start taping "Who's the Boss?" when season 2 starts, since I have the season 1 DVD. :)

I've only seen bits and pieces of that ep, but I've heard really good things about it. Anybody know when ION will air it?

You're right. As I am watching these episodes, I notice that these are the same exact syndie copies that were used in the late 90s and early 2000's. I guess us WTB? fans got lucky. It's a shame about Alice. They edited that show so damn poorly.

Sometimes I catch that show on ION, but it seems that they're only showing the more recent episodes, like when Samantha was a young adult, Tony and Angela are a couple, Tony's going to college, etc. I like the older episodes like when Samantha was really young. I also like Tony's old neighbor from Brooklyn Mrs. Rossini or something like that. I hope they start showing those older episodes in the near future.

They are. They're showing S1. When the show premiered on that channel, they were doing the ones with baseball themes. {due to the bb season, I believe I heard}

They said that the versions are nice, nothing like Alice which makes me want to throw a BRICK through the window of the ION TV station-lol

reading some of the posts it seems they are not starting the show from the beginning though. Who wants to see a show you haven't seen in years from the middle of the seasons?

For the fans sake, I hope so.

But, there still is time for ION to do it's dice, slice and chop-o-matic work on the episodes.

They started showing the episodes starting with season 1 this week. They haven't been in order though. Last night, they showed "Sports Buddies" and "Samantha's Growing Up," which I believe are the 9th and 11th episodes. As for the editing, it doesn't seem to be too bad. :)

i've been watching WTB on ION as well even though I've got the dvd's. You're right, it's still nice to watch them on TV. I can't wait for season 2 to beging, so I can tape my favorite episodes, like the 2-part opener. great one! I still have some tapes from the 80's and early 90's, but I got rid of some because I thought the show would be released on dvd. UGH. I hope they eventually release all of the seasons on dvd. anyway, it's great watching the early episodes again. brings back memories. used to love tuesday nights...WTB, Growing Pains, and Moonlighting. ABC owned Tuesday back in the day. what a great night of television.

I haven't really been watching it on ION, I keep saying that I'm going to and then I forget. I watched the second part of Angela's Ex though tonight. It was pretty good. I'm going to start watching it every night now.:) I'm really looking forward to seeing It Happened One Summer. I read what it's about and I can't wait to see it. When it came on N@N, I watched some episodes and I liked it. When they moved it to early in the morning though, I couldn't watch it anymore. I'm glad that its back on tv so I can see it.

For those wondering about the show airing out of order, I checked the episode guide at epguides.com and it looks like they're airing the show in production order.
