Every time I watch this show, I make sure I'm there exactly when it starts just to listen to the theme! I mean, it fits the show perfectly, plus the opening credits as shot from a camera are amazing!

The opening credits definitely make me smile. I love the Joe Cocker's version of "With a Little Help From My Friends."

I love that song! I brought it on iTunes and that song makes me cry. In fact, the whole show sometimes makes me cry, the song and the show reminds me a little of my lost childhood(I grew up in the eighties and nineties)

Definitely liked the first version of the theme. Although, the sixth season version wasn't bad either. I loved the beginning . . . very catchy.

I was born in 1968, so this show really means a lot to me sentimentally. It was like growing up through my childhood all over again while watching TWY. I mean, this show made me laugh, and it made me cry a lot every Tuesday night. Definitely one of the best shows of it's era (if not the best).

LOVED The Wonder Years. Great show! And I loved the theme song as well. Fred Savage and Jason Hervey were great as brothers and I always thought that Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper of course!) was so beautiful! I hear she's a lawyer now and that Fred Savage's wife just had a baby. That's wonderful!

Some people I know love the Beatles version, but I love the Joe Cocker version a million times more! Not only because it was the theme song for TWY and it fit the show to a tee, but the song itself is magnificent if I say so myself. Joe Cocker did a wonderful cover of the song and made it famous to as many people who recognized the original version as much.

Oh, yes. I totally agree. The song (as was said) fit TWY perfectly! :D

And definitely the Joe Cocker version; and as mentioned, the Beatles version though good, would've been an anachronism to the setting.

I feel the same way. I like the Beatles' original (from the Sgt. Pepper album if I'm not mistaken), but I always thought Joe Cocker's version of the song was the best. :D

Everytime I hear the theme song and Joe Cocker's voice, I get chills...such a beautiful rendition of the song and a perfect fit for TWY!!!! :)

Yeah, the Joe Crocker version is WAY better than the Beatles version. Joe Crocker really made the song his own, while the Beatles just made it another song.

I recall reading some time ago that the Beatles really loved Joe Cocker's version of the song.

I really liked the way they used the later verse, the harder music and lyric. It fit the transition from child to teenager perfect.
Great Cocker track.
