Hey everyone. I have a little dilema lately and I wanted more input about it. For the past few months, I've been hearing from everyone about how nice my hair is. However, lately a lot of people have said they have just tried to be nice and said it's way too long and I need to get it cut. The only thing I have liked about myself is my hair, and now no one likes it, except my mom. What I wanted to do, was let it grow a little more and then donate it to Locks of Love to make a wig for cancer patients. But now, I just honestly feel like taking the scissors to it! It's silly I know, but what do you think? Here's a recent picture of me, showing my hair length.

I think it's great that you want to donate your hair to Locks of Love. It's a wonderful cause. You should definitely not let anybody discourage you from doing that or dictate the length or style you should have it. It's your hair. I think it's very pretty.

That's really nice of you to want to donate your hair to Locks of Love. Don't let others make you feel like you have to cut your hair. My hair is longer than yours (goes a little past my waist) and everyone tells me I should cut it because it's way too long. I don't care, though because I like it long. I never wear it down anyway--it's always up in a pony tail. Anyway, if you like your hair long, I think you should leave it that way. It looks nice.

I agree; your hair is beautiful and if you want it long then keep it long.
Don't listen to other people. As for you wanting to donate it for a good cause well I think it's great and you should do it if that's what you want to do.

If you like it like that and want to grow it out more, keep it. The only person who matters is you :)

Donating your hair is a very noble thing, if that is what YOU want to do.

I can tell you that 90+% of men would say do not cut your hair, there are plenty of attractive short hair styles but I think most men still love the long hair.

I think your hair looks great

Kelly, I'm not sure what I can really add to this since I think everyone pretty much has said what I would have said. The real question here is whether your like you hair or not? If you like your hairstyle, then you should keep it. What others think really doesn't matter. If you start wearing your hair a certain way because other people think that you should, or if you start dressing a certain way because it is what others think, you are not going to be happy. You have to be the person that you were born to be, and the way you wear your hair and the clothes that you wear are a big part of self-expression.

If you want my opinion, I would keep your hair just the way it is. I think that it gives you character. :)

Thanks everyone! I usually don't care what people think, but I do want people to like it. I really do like my hair. I've always wanted to let it grow long and I finally had the tolerance to do it. :) I'm going to let it grow more and I will donate it. Again, thanks. I guess I needed a confidence booster, even if it is only about hair lol.

Everyone needs a confidence booster every now and then. :) I'm glad it helped you.

looks very nice that way Kelly.....if you still want to donate hair, grow it to past your knees then cut it just past your shoulder blades, best of both worlds :)

I think it's very pretty. And the fact that your goal is to donate it makes it all the better.

If certain individuals told you that they liked it, and then turned right around and said that they'd been fibbin', then what exactly is their purpose in telling you this? Don't worry about what others say. If you're happy with it, then that's all that matters.

The opinions of fake people matter even less.

I think its great that you are donating it most people would not. It's better to give that recieve. You know I think you will be rewarded in life later on for doing such a great thing. good for you

Your hair is so gorgeous.

If I may tell you, when my oldest daughter was younger, she had extremely long hair. It was sooooo long, it passed her butt. People constantly told her how lovely her hair was, and because of that, I never cut it. I gave it a trim here and there, but never actually cut it so much. I loved her hair. Guess what? SHE HATED IT LONG. She begged me to cut it off. Me and her father loved her hair long and I guess we loved the attention she got without thinking how she felt. Finally in 8th grade (10 years ago) I really saw how she was miserable with it. I decided to cut it SHORT. I cut almost 2 feet of hair. I kept it as a keepsake. She has never grown it back. In fact, she had it cut shorter. Nowadays she loves her shoulder length hair and NOT dealing with the hassle.

I never even heard of that organization you mentioned until a few years ago.

You do what you want with your hair. Don't let others dictate what to do. Obviously you are the one who has to care for it, brush it, deal with it and whatever you want to do with it is YOUR DECISION. I applaud you for wanting to donate it. That is great.

Your hair really looks good. You can wear it long, braid it, put it in a pony-tail or wear it pinned up, so many choices. But you should decide & not let anyone else influence you on what you want to do with your hair.

Donating your hair is very noble and you shouldn't let ANYONE tell you how you should wear your hair. Style is what makes us all different, so you should just grow it as long as your little hear desires. :)

People who tell other people how to wear their hair are asses. Ignore them. What the hell is it to them if it's "too" long?? You're not a guy.
