Franks Brand Soda
Anyone have something they miss?

I loved Frank's when I lived up there, and when I moved south, whenever I'd go up north again, go to the store and pick up some Frank's, especially the clear creme soda.

I loved Pudding pops, then I never could find them for the longest time, now they're just come back!

These are from the 80's/early 90's....damn, I miss them:

Oatmeal Swirlers--instant oatmeal like you'd find today, but it came with either a packet of jelly (my favorite!) or maple syrup that you could swirl in to it.

Disney ice pops-- orange, cherry, or grape flavored ice pops that were shaped like Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy).

Andy Capp's pub fries-- I used to eat these with my school lunch every day in 4th grade! They were just plain, salted potato sticks, not like the Cheddar or Hot Fries they sell now. They were soooo good!

I'll think of more later as they come to me :)

I'll second that. Although a box on ebay would probably be expired. Also, the doo dads party mix as well.

-Barnone candybars: Kind of like a cross between a kit kat and a whatchamacalit, very tasty, I have no idea why they don't make these anymore. Appeared in the late 80's.

-1-2-3- Jello. A three layered jello. I didn't like the top layer, but the bottom two were excellent. Appeared for a short time in the early 90's.

Oh, I just remembered! Dannon used to sell this in the mid- to late 90s. I haven't seen them sold since at least 2000. They were like dessert yogurts... They came in these little packages that had yogurt in a big compartment and the topping for it in the other, smaller compartment. I forgot what it was called...I remember one of my fave dessert yogurts by them was chocolate eclair. Yummy stuff, that. :)

Oh yes, that's another one. Haven't had them in 20 years probably. I don't remember what they tasted like, but I remember they had smiley faces on the outsides of the cookies. I watched a LOT of Nickelodeon in the 80s and early 90s, and they aired that commercial alllllllllllll the damn time on Nick. lol

Scrolling a little further down on that link, they had bonkers candy. I knew I was forgetting some. I still remember the commercials for them in the 80's, with the giant pieces of fruit falling out of the sky and landing on people.

Also, does anyone remember Bubble-Eez bubble gum. Big pieces of bubble gum in the shape of a ball. They didn't come in a pack, rather a pouch/container type thing. Surfaced in the late 80's.

I know. Seriously, the Bill Cosby Jello commercials were a freaking staple in the 80s and early 90s, because he was in an extremely popular sitcom at the time. I remember he would do commercials for whatever holiday it was... I freaking loved his Christmas commercials. He would make gelatin Jello, and kids would crowd around him as he took a cookiecutter in the shape of a Xmas tree or gingerbread man, cut it out and then bite off the tip or the head.

I can see these commercials SO clearly in my head, and they don't even have any of his commercials on X-E.

There is a marshmallow Jolly Time. Check your Albertson's store. It has mrshmallow creme in a packet. Seems like you culd also make your own --just buy marshmallow creme in a jar, microwave it ( sans the lid ). I love it, myself. It has a good taste without the creme.

There is also a great -tasting Act II with caramel --you have to pop the corn, then pour the contents of the bag into a bowl, put the caramel "wafer" on top, and melt it in the microwave. Hmmm. Of course, you could also buy Kraft caramels and use those.

You can still get that type of Jello in Mexican groceries --it doesn't always taste good, though. I guess you didn't like creme layer?
Barnone. My first one was in Halloween trickortreat bag. I was in my mid-20s, and pretending to be in high school so I could get treats! I LOVED it! How generous a size that bar was! SO good!

I enjoy getting British candy at an import store or British Grocers. One was a Turkish Delight type, with chocolate coating. I saw one last week at Cost Plus. Brits love bisquit as a flavor! Bisquit flavored ice cream, etc. --and it's not just a British name for cookie --it is really bisquit, as in digestive bisquit. What fun! I saw several different types at Cost Plus. Didn't buy, because I need to save money. :eatarrow:

Hi Empress! I heard a rumor that Barnone was also available in Mexico. Makes me want to go south of the border for those reasons alone. The layer on the 1-2-3 Jello I didn't like was the lightest one, kind of like a foamy/cool whip texture to it. Yeah, the barnone candy bar was piled pretty high, one of the reasons I liked it.:)

-Jimmy Dean's version of Lunchables

-certain flavors of Jelly Belly Jelly beans, including Mai Tai

-A certain Pepperdige Farm Cookie. I can't remember the name of it, all of their cookies have similar sounding names, but it was one that came out not too long ago, it had a mocha center, covered by two hard cookies. Very Delicious.
