The new movie trailer teaser by J.J. Abrams, the creator of “LOST” and “ALIAS,” was played before “Transformers” and gave the moviegoers almost no information about the film, not even a name.

Movie trailers are meant to entice movie goers to see an upcoming film. The majority of the time trailers give so much of the movie away that people who paid good money to watch the film feel they were deceived. All of the funny parts or important parts are almost always extensively put in commercial or movie trailer material. J.J. Abrams, the genius behind “LOST” and “Alias,” is developing a new “mystery” project due out January 18th, 2008. The trailer for his new film was featured before the immensely-popular and super-successful “Transformers" movie.

The trailer, in a teaser format, gave almost nothing away, not even the name. The teaser featured many people in New York having fun and going about their everyday lives, then through blackberry’s and home video cameras, we see their reaction to a horrible noise, some kind of attack. After the footage, shot in a similar way to the "Blair Witch" project, there was no title or actors just, “From J.J. Abrams” and “1/18/08.”

Curiosity drove fans of Abrams to search the web like fiends to find out any information about this elusive movie. After disproving the rumor that it was a movie based on Godzilla, they discovered that it was named “Cloverfield.” The details of the movie are so guarded that there is no whiff of a plot, with the exception that it looks to be some type of alien invasion movie. The interesting thing about is that it looks to be shot from multiple characters perspectives through home media devices, such as video cameras and cell phones.
