View Full Version : How often do you watch Fresh Prince on Nick at Nite? JulieSomoski 07-06-2007, 09:02 PM How often do you really watch Fresh Prince on NAN? Ireneparalegal 07-06-2007, 09:09 PM Thank You. BTW, this thread is to find out who really watches FP since it seems to be such an issue here on the boards and how it is shown too much on N&N. NEVER. I don't watch it. I don't care to. It is re-runned into the ground. Mr. Television 07-06-2007, 09:10 PM Never and I actually like the show but enough is enough. Adamantium 07-06-2007, 09:13 PM I never watch it on Nick at Nite. But I watch it on DVD once in a while. And I used to watch it when it first aired on NBC. But, like I say, I never watch it on N&N. Course, for that matter, I never watch "Roseanne" or "The Cosby Show" either. The last show I watched on Nick at Nite was "NewsRadio." And we all know how that went. I just want people to know that even though I'm voting "Never", I still think it's a good show (not great). coffield3 07-06-2007, 09:22 PM Never. Mr. Television 07-06-2007, 09:25 PM I never watch it on Nick at Nite. Thats the way I am too. I don't watch Roseanne or TCS either and I do think they're good shows too. JulieSomoski 07-06-2007, 09:29 PM I actually put sometimes, since that's the truth. I don't extensively watch it, though, which is what I think most people don't do as well. I still like the show, but not as much as I used to, which I what I would also think would happen to most people. PrettyinPink55 07-06-2007, 09:36 PM Once in a while, but sometimes, especially lately, it seems like that's all that is on! Janice 07-06-2007, 09:39 PM Here and there, and not by choice, believe me. It's insane, and sickening actually, the way that show is on one continous loop. gidgetgrape 07-06-2007, 10:28 PM Never. I'm over FP. freshprinceofLA 07-06-2007, 10:41 PM well sometimes. Its a good show but n@n has killed it badly! but I just watch it when there is nothing elese to watch. catlover79 07-07-2007, 12:24 AM Never - I don't have cable. Zoneboy 07-07-2007, 12:39 AM I'm not that desperate. Mikado 07-07-2007, 12:40 AM Never noveel 07-07-2007, 05:26 AM N@N could officially become the Fresh Prince Network and nobody here would notice a big difference friendsfan77 07-07-2007, 10:30 AM Never. They air it too freaking much. This show is a favorite of mine, it's been that way ever since I was a child. I would always watch this show and Blossom every Monday night on NBC. I don't want to start getting sick of it. I love this show but I never want to tire of it this way. It's the same with other fan favorites that have been run into the ground. I'm really surprised the tapes haven't worn out and fallen apart yet. If they air this only once or twice a night (like a show IMHO is SUPPOSED to be run), then yeah, I'd probably watch it then. Marathons are nice every once in a while, but they just go above and beyond and it's just pathetic. There are other shows in the vault. TVFactFan 07-07-2007, 11:45 AM How often do you really watch Fresh Prince on NAN? I watch like 1 ep before 1am but not back to back. I usually just say to myself-"well it's not roseanne"-lol JulieSomoski 07-07-2007, 12:59 PM The funny thing is, sometimes and never are neck and neck, but no one chose mostly yet! TVFactFan 07-07-2007, 01:03 PM The funny thing is, sometimes and never are neck and neck, but no one chose mostly yet! Well since I watch the show on NBC during my highschool and college years and in local syndication from 1995-1999, I don't watch it on N@N as often. Only if there is a MASH or ANDY GRIFFITH marathon on TV LAND JulieSomoski 07-07-2007, 04:57 PM I used to watch it occasionally when it aired originally, and back then it used to be good. But this poll just goes to see that there is no possible reason this show gets the ratings it does. Furienna 07-07-2007, 07:04 PM I'm from Sweden, so I don't really know how this works, and I can't vote in the poll. But I have to say, that it sounds ridiculous. I like "Fresh Prince" and I try to watch every episode, but the way it sounds, Nick At Nite hardly airs anything else. How many times a night is this show aired on N@N? Do they air many different episodes every night, or is one episode aired several times a night? Do they air many different episodes every night, or is one episode aired several times a night? I noticed that certain eps are repeated during the same night Furienna 07-07-2007, 07:20 PM Ah, then it's similar to a TV channel here in Sweden, TV4 Komedi, that airs a lot of classic sitcoms. It will air every episode twice within 24 hours. And its sister channel TV4 Guld does the same thing to classic dramas, soap operas and police series. noveel 07-07-2007, 08:15 PM Does anyone here have a Neilsen box? Do they count how much time someone watch's something? The ratings may just come from Channel Surfers have watch for just a few minutes? JulieSomoski 07-07-2007, 08:58 PM I had a Nielson box for a year in 2001, but for some reason I had it removed after that. Tubehead 07-08-2007, 04:16 PM I watch it sometimes. I don't care to much for the older ones. I like when it first started. I don't care to much for the older shows. I got fresh prince season 1 and 2 on dvd. I hadn't watch them in a while. I'm not sure if I want to buy the older shows. I don't like the olders shows much. Kristen 07-08-2007, 05:51 PM I watch it occaisonallly, if I catch it on, and there's nothing better on. It's a good show, and I wouldn't want to see N@N dump it permanently, but this is just ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder if Will Smith owns part of the network or something! LOL Aren't all the seasons out on DVD already? Who can possibly be watching it so much? TVFactFan 07-08-2007, 05:53 PM I watch it occaisonallly, if I catch it on, and there's nothing better on. LOL Aren't all the seasons out on DVD already? Who can possibly be watching it so much? I haven't a clue as to who would be watching it, I just know that this show is not only on N&N but also on other channels. I guess there are people who can't enjoy a good dose of Discovery Channel or some other worthy, notable channels that offers great television. JulieSomoski 07-08-2007, 06:26 PM I would be lost without NAN, but there are so many other good channels out there that no one seems to watch anymore. ALl I hear about is Fresh Prince all day, all the time. coffield3 07-08-2007, 10:33 PM My highschool boyfriend use to love fresh prince he use to tape every episode and we had to watch it 24/7 thats probably why im not so kean on it now he drove me crazy with it. Mr. Television 07-08-2007, 10:45 PM Not one person on SO watches the Fresh Prince all the time.... noveel 07-08-2007, 11:10 PM I watch it occaisonallly, if I catch it on, and there's nothing better on. LOL Aren't all the seasons out on DVD already? Who can possibly be watching it so much? Blame lazy ratings hungry programmers! JulieSomoski 07-09-2007, 11:17 AM But I never found an answer to my question. WHy does Fresh Prince get that good of ratings? If no one watched it all the time, then there is no way it came be getting near 1.5 million viewers each night, which all the other shows get below 1 million. Is NAN inflating their numbers? But then if they were, why? I just don't get it. Furienna 07-09-2007, 05:46 PM Yeah, it all sounds very strange to me too. TVFactFan 07-09-2007, 05:58 PM But I never found an answer to my question. There are probably BRND NEW fans of Fresh prince who fall into the age range of 10-17 who were not even born when Fresh Prince on NBC. So i think it's a Hit with preteens and teenagers because they have just been introduced to the show. The boys probably watch for Ashely and Hilary and the Girls watch for will and Carlton Furienna 07-09-2007, 05:59 PM That would be true. But more than twice a night still seems too much. TVFactFan 07-09-2007, 06:03 PM That would be true. But more than twice a night still seems too much. I understand completely, when someone discovers something NEW, they can't get enough of it and that's the case with Fresh Prince. AB 07-09-2007, 06:08 PM Never watch it. noveel 07-09-2007, 08:58 PM But you can't base the ratings on N@N by the members on this board. That might explain my Murphy Brown gets low ratings, those kids don't get the jokes on it. But those kids can't stay up all night, even in the summer. The original purpose of Nick@Nite was to run shows that appealed to adults because kids are asleep at night. If Disney was smart, they'd create something like Nick@Nite for its night programming. Nick@Nite shows what was on in the evenings after school 10-15 years ago. The "classic" channel is now (or was) TV Land. Even my 55 year mom was attached to FP because of Carlton-lol Mr. Television 07-09-2007, 09:45 PM Exactly, but it looks like FP gained a new fanbase. The show is very easy to like. Like tonight I watch watch OH sH*T is roseanne Week. Well I'm about to hang myself in the backyard. Well Atleast I can turn to TV Land and watch Three's Company and Good Times noveel 07-09-2007, 11:19 PM Did you have parents who worked late? noveel 07-09-2007, 11:20 PM Exactly, but it looks like FP gained a new fanbase. Was this local syndication or N@N? JulieSomoski 07-10-2007, 05:03 PM Back to the question, even if kids watch it, that doesn't even fall in NAN's 18-49 demographic that they are looking for. So, even if kids do watch it, would that even count in the ratings? And back to the Murphy Brown thing, when it was airing originally in the 90's, I was only 14 years old, and I watched it almost every Monday when it was on. I loved the show when I was a kid, and I understood all the jokes, so I wouldn't find that argument too legit. The thing Solomon said about the new viewers thing is very true, if you think about it. I mean, no matter how old you are, there are so many chances for someone to watch the show for the first time and like. I mean, it's on all the time, so anybody could just turn on the TV and become addicted, like I once was. I have no plans on turning to N@N until next monday JulieSomoski 07-11-2007, 04:37 PM Yeah, I've been enjoying watching Nick at Nite again. I haven't watched in about 2 weeks since I've been watching ION, but it's nice to see Roseanne get a week long marathon again. What's next week: Full House? If it's Full House, I won't be watching much again. I am looking forward to the Cosby week, though, and August. TVFactFan 07-11-2007, 05:24 PM Yeah, I've been enjoying watching Nick at Nite again. That, and George Lopez will join Murphy Brown, Designing Women, and HiJinks at 5am. comedyfreak 07-12-2007, 08:16 AM Never, although this past weekend I seen the Fresh Prince mansion in Bel-Air. Furienna 07-12-2007, 05:31 PM Wow! Cool! JulieSomoski 07-12-2007, 07:22 PM So, it looks like most people at these boards never watch Fresh Prince when its on, when some watch it sometimes, and no one wagches it for most of its airings. It's kind of odd, but kind of not, because I guess like many of you said before, a lot of kids wtach the show, and I wouldn't think kids would come to these message boards, which explains it. |
