The episode 'Louise Suspects', the one where George lets Louise believe he's having an affair to cover for the fact that he's opening another store. He told her that he would break it off with the other woman on Tuesday (the store opening). Louise was on board with this! She hit him with a pillow, big deal. Louise had too much dignity to allow for such insanity and infidelity.

This was so out of character for George, Louise as well as Lionel and Jenny. I couldn't believe my ears when Jenny was telling Lionel basically that it was no big deal since they had been married for 25 years. ty.

The storyline wasn't plausible, even for a sitcom. If this had been the real deal, George would have gone flying over the balcony, like Mr. Whittendale's dog, lol. Not really, but he wouldn't have been able to live with Louise while he waited until next Tuesday to break it off with the other woman. Louise told Helen that George wants to let the other woman down easy and not hurt her feelings.

I shook my head throughout this entire joke of an episode. It was laughable, not haha laughable either. Stupid, beyond belief laughable. It was like The Twilight Zone meets The Jeffersons.

You're right the plot makes absolutely no sense at all- that was the first show produced in the third year, you'd think that with six months or so off the writers would've come up with a better first show than this. Notice that while it was the first show shot it wasn't the first one shown, as if they realized it was a stupid plot after it was already made.
