I was thinking since Maude is a spin-off of All in the Family and Good Times is a spin-off of Maude. Meaning Good Times and All In The Family are in the same tv universe. It would have been funny for James Evans to run into Archie. Those two pickering would have been funny.. James would have torn into Archie with his wise cracks. James don't play unlike George Jefferson. I can also see Florida and Edith getting along very well much like Weezy and Edith. I can already see Archie cracking up on JJ big time. I think it would have been interesting for the Evans to somehow visit the Bunkers!

That would have been something to see, but I have a feeling Archie & James wouldn't have seen eye to eye on things. It would have been good for a few laughs though.

I could see James making Archie look stupid, like Lionel did at times.

How would James had ever run into Archie when he was living in a poor section of Chicago while Archie was living in Queens, NY. So how would their paths have ever crossed???

Just asking a question. Of course both them in a scene would be funny but it was no way they were going to ever crossed paths due to their living situations and where they were located

What if the family was visiting Maude and Maude wanted to introduce them?

OH Nuts!

As suggested above, the Evans could have visited the Jeffersons and met Archie through them. Or Maude could have introduced them. Yeah that'd be good! A definite sure fire way to rile Archie! That'd make Maudie smile! I loved the way she went at Archie! But I doubt it would have been James who would have lit into Archie. I think it would have been Florida giving him a real zinger and making Archie look like an idiot--of course, not a hard thing to do!

There are a lot of ways they could have met. For example, James could have been helping George at the cleaning store and Edith and Archie come in. Florida could have been visiting Maude and both came to help Edith with her volunteer work. The Evans could have come back to visit a sick relative in the Sunshine Home and met Edith that way. Just 3 for starters; this is TV fiction...anything is possible!

The whole idea of the Evans and Archie meeting is a clever one; why the writers or producers didn't think of it, or do it, I'll never know.

Absolutely. And let's not forget Florida or Willona--they are pretty tough cookies in their own right--but they were also much brighter than Archie--so I think they would have cut him down to size verbarlly; very often, "the pen is mightier than the sword".
