I think Paco was my favorite, but it's been a long time so I'm not sure if that's one of the characters' names. Scoobiedoo30 07-14-2007, 05:19 PM How long has the show been on PBS Gwendy 07-14-2007, 05:52 PM It aired on PBS from 1980 to 1988 Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2007, 01:15 AM so it was on for 9 season's Sophie Treadmill 07-20-2007, 10:27 AM I had no idea this show was on for that long! I remember watching it in the early 80's. I can still remember the theme song! Isn't it awful when you can remember something random like that, but can't remember something important from yesterday? TMC 05-17-2026, 06:09 PM TNsum0THYkY Before Bill Nye, before YouTube science channels, and before every classroom had the internet at its fingertips, PBS gave ’80s kids a science show that made curiosity feel cool: 3-2-1 Contact (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125202/http://www.jumptheshark.com/t/321contact.htm). Produced by the Children’s Television Workshop — the same team behind Sesame Street and The Electric Company — 3-2-1 Contact (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/ThreeTwoOneContact) aired on PBS from 1980 to 1988 and helped a generation of kids see science as something exciting, hands-on, and actually fun. With real-world experiments, field segments, a diverse cast of curious hosts, and one unforgettable mystery segment called The Bloodhound Gang, the show turned observation, questions, and problem-solving into weekly after-school entertainment. In this Dial-Up Days deep dive, we look back at how 3-2-1 Contact (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-2-1_Contact) was created, why PBS and the Children’s Television Workshop believed kids needed a different kind of science show, how the hosts made learning feel human, and why The Bloodhound Gang may have been one of the smartest educational segments in children’s television history. We’ll also explore why the show is not remembered as often as Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, or Bill Nye the Science Guy — despite its huge impact on kids, classrooms, science education, and PBS history. Were you a 3-2-1 Contact (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406232507/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3116136-3-2-1-contact/?view=getnewpost) kid? Hawkee 05-23-2026, 04:13 AM I remember reading the 321 Contact magazine as a kid because my godfather had gotten me a subscription to it because he loved learning facts about science and wanted me to learn stuff and to my surprise I found 321 Contact Magazine very impressive and some of the articles were very educational and amazing. But I do also remember watching the 321 Contact show and I can say that Children's Television Workshop really wanted to attract the older kids audience after the success of The Electric Company and when you create a show about the wonders of science for kids the success pays off. And I truly think why 321 Contact is an iconic show is because it was a science oriented show that older kids who adored science could relate to. But why a reboot of 321 Contact hasn't been considered yet? Because this show is an iconic show and deserves to be rebooted for a new generation of fans? But the theme song is so catchy you find yourself singing the smart lyrics Dude111 05-23-2026, 04:23 PM go to www.80stvthemes.com then click on Potpourri, then click on Misc (Education, Talk, Others)Wow I did just this!!
