Happy Weekend Everyone! What's going on? I think I'll just sit at my computer all weekend and defend Paris Hilton. I'm kidding.

Irene, it's your turn to bring the wine coolers. I'll have a Peach Mango please. :D

Well, first thing tomorrow, my dad and I are going to see my grandparents for 2 weeks, so I won't be here for a while.

Well, as soon as I get home, i'm taking a nap. We had a summer/End of Session party yesterday and leftovers today so I ate way too much. Later on, i'll probably go online.

The rest of the weekend probably shopping or spending time with the family.

HERE THEY ARE PEACH WINE COOLERS!!!!!!

Today I have to go take my son to pick up his tux. He is five years old. He isn't having it!!! He gave us a hard time when it was fitting time, I have no idea how I am going to get him to actually wear this tux. It is my niece's wedding tomorrow and I am worried!

Tonight is the wedding rehearsal and we shall see if he will actually walk down the aisle or run down the aisle. He might have a fit and refuse to. Oh God, gimme a wine cooler.

Okay folks, are you sitting down?

I'm working this weekend!

Okay my company isn't officially back in action yet, so I'm still unemployed.

But I have been working on a big project for a friend of mine. My buddy Kieron, who used to run the Gaf but quit last Fall in a dispute with the owner is opening up a new bar a few blocks down the street on 10th avenue, and I'm building his sign!

I've been working on it for the past few days, It's a bunch of 15" high letters I'm cutting out of 1/4 inch steel. I'm trying to get this project done by Tuesday, so it looks like I'm going to the shop tomorrow to do soem welding and painting.

I will post some pics of the finished project next week.

I am really happy to have this opportunity. Hopefully It will be good for my design business.

Other than that, I'm probably not doing anything else this weekend.

;)

Irene, I would love to see pictures of your son in his little tux. If you're not comfortable posting them online, maybe an e:mail. I'm sure he'll do fine. He'll be too nervous to act up.

These days (especially evenings) are going to be VERY busy starting today up until the 8th of July! I'm getting my vacation stuff ready as well as going to some local get-together events around town and spending time with friends. I just came back after walking around the mall finding a clubbing outfit tonight and some stuff for my Vegas trip together with my friend, Ivy. It was fun! We walked around for about four hours, so we really burned off some calories after that huge lunch we had at the Mexican restaurant before we hit the mall. We found some clothes, and we will look cute in them!

I will most definitely post his pics. My camera battery was dead on me when he tried it on in the store, so there went that opportunity. But for sure tomorrow I will have my camera up and ready and will take many pics. I actually had an avatar of him on here before. I also posted a pic of him here a long time ago. I put his pic in that Hot looking men thread a long time ago.

I thought that was your son, at the beach. It wasn't clear on my computer. For some reason, some avatars and pictures show up dark for me. I think it's my monitor. Maybe you can post a pic of you and your boyfriend too. I'm sure you have a great dress! :)

I just finished off my second week on the floor as administrative assistant. It is certainly a challenging job. I'm wiped out!! The transition hasn't exactly been all sunshine and roses, but there have been some great people helping out. Now I'm helping watch the house and the cats while my folks are on vacation in Missouri and Oklahoma this week. I'm looking forward to having two days to sleep in!!

Many years ago, I worked as an administrative assistant. I thought it was a very stressful position. The worst duty for me was arranging meetings. Trying to get 5 to 10 department heads together was insane. I'd make it down the list, and find out that one or two could not make it...so it was back to the drawing board.

Everyone in the office would come to me for everything from a jammed copy machine to helping them fill out paperwork. I hope you like it Monika, but I didn't. It's also depends on where you work and the type of boss or even bosses you have. Good luck. :)

Thank you Janice. It's mainly been a struggle to balance several new duties, and getting used to working with a new team. Thankfully, I work for a great company and have understanding superiors and fellow employees who have gone far and above the call of duty to help. I do like this job, but it is always the first few weeks that are a struggle. Everything is so disorganized and out of whack, but once I find the perfect routine and everyone gets used to me, I think everything will be fine. I'll keep everyone posted; it's sure a lot more fun than being chained to a phone all day long!! :D

Not too much planned for me yet this weekend. Sunday is a friend of mine's birthday, but she's having a big thing with tons of people, so I'll probably sit it out, and give her her card and presents the day before. I'm also going to make her an ice cream cake, since ice cream's her favorite food. Sunday I'm probably going to go visit another friend of mine who is currently separated from his wife, and in a tough situation. He's a good guy, and can really use the company. I also plan on making a phone call to a very close friend of mine, who I haven't talked to for awhile. :D Should be a good weekend!! :)

That's great you're working for a nice group. That's more than half the battle right there. I had an instructor at a career seminar tell us that it can take up to a year to fully learn an intense job...the kind of job where there are varied duties, where critical thinking is necessary. I'm not referring to Dairy Queen here, lol. You may find the learning curve takes a few months, but you'll get the hang of it. It feels disorganized and out of whack because you're feeling your way around in the dark here, and that's only natural. Things will naturally fall into place. You'll be teaching them a thing or three in no time.

Cheerio all, I have a dilemma...I can't decide whether to take out the 20 foot or the 30 ft yacht. Anywho, after a nice day of sailing, it is off to the country club for a game of Squash and perhaps a nice filet mignon.

Aw, don't stop posting in the thread, Mona :( I don't think it's elite, personally--it seems people post what they're up to and if someone else sees what their friend is up to, they respond about it. I don't think anyone meant any harm :)

But, anyway, shopping seems fun :) I'm actually doing that myself today :) My Mom and I are spending the afternoon together (going to the mall and Old Navy and possibly the food court for lunch). Afterwards, I'll be calling my friends to see if they want to do something tonight for a little while.

Hope you have fun today, Mona!

I hope you had a nice time time Brad. You know they sell ice cream cakes, right.

I definitely did have a nice time, thanks!! :) I know they sell ice cream cake, but it's four times more expensive, and in my opinion, my homeade one tasted just as good as any I ever bought, and it only took me 30 minutes to make. Also, Donna seemed to really appreciate the fact that I made it with my own hands, instead of just picking one up at the store. She even told me that. :D

Here's the recipe incase anyone's interested:

Butterfinger ice cream cake:

1 box vanilla ice cream
1 box chocolate ice cream
1 pint cream
3 Butterfinger bar

1. Break up bars.
2. Cut ice cream into slabs.
3. Layer 1 white, then butterfinger, chocolate, then butterfinger, then white again.
4. Top with cream and butterfinger.
5. Put back into freezer until needed.

Yum, that does sound good. You're right, they are expensive to buy. When we have my husband's kids and their kids over for a birthday dinner, I buy those Carvel or Friendly's ones. The big size ones go for about $25. It's crazy, but I guess buying cake and ice cream separately would cost about the same. I'm not the type to make it homemade, lol. Wish I was, but it's not happening.

You're welcome swedeace!! :D If you do try it, please pm me and let me know what you thought of it. I'm curious to know. One suggestion I have if you are going to make it, is that you might want to buy one or two extra butterfingers. Also, I know from past posts I've read of yours that you're really into fitness, and running, and healthy living, so if you want, you can even deviate from the recipe like I did, and use low fat ingredients. Just a couple tips I thought I'd share. Anyway, regardless of how you make it, I hope you enjoy it!! :)

YUMMY!, that sounds absolutely delicious; so, if I ever visit your neck of the woods, will you make me an ice-cream cake? ;)

I'd make a thousand of them for you Tara!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said, there's not many people that can get me to spend time in the kitchen, but I'd spend a year in there if I knew the end result was getting to see you!!!!!!!!!! ;)

The one thing about ice cream cake that I'm not sure about is does it get soggy? I don't think I've had ice cream cake before. I don't like eating things that get soggy. For example I don't like pineapple upside down cake because it gets soggy. I don't like sloppy joes, chili on hot dogs, ice cream on top of cake and certain types of cereal such as corn flakes because of the soggyness.

Butterfinger is one of my favorite candy bars. :)
One of DQ's specialties is their ice cream cakes. As long as you keep it properly frozen up until it's time to slice the cake, the soggy factor isn't a big problem. Obviously no regular cake crust is used - in place of the crust is ice cream and for layering, they use crushed cookies, followed by the obligatory frosting on top.

You do have to eat it quickly, though. :)

Exactly!! Like you said, since there's no cake batter involved, it usually doesn't get soggy. I know what Jen means though about soggy foods. I can't eat soggy foods either. The worst is hot dog's when you put too much stuff on it, and the bun basically becomes soaked. That is so nasty!!!
