There are a lot of shows in which actors who are essentially regulars are listed in the closing credits rather than at the beginning, in fact there seem to be more shows that do this than those that don't. But it is funny when actors who are regulars for years and years are still not listed in the beginning. Older series did this such as I Dream of Jeannie (Bill Daly and Hayden Rourke), My Three Sons (until season 6 the 3 Sons weren't listed in the opening) but later series do it as well (on Roseanne the guys who married the daughters were never listed in the opening even thougt towards the end they were seen more than the daughers), and Cheers (Bebe Newirth was on for several years before her name was added and John Ratzenberger was in it from the start but wasn't credited in the beginning).

What are some other series?

The MTM shows did this. For The Mary Tyler Moore Show, hers was the only name in the opening credits. Everyone else's names were in the closing credits. The Bob Newhart Show's only cast members listed in the opening credits were Bob Newhart and Suzanne Pleshette. Rhoda's only cast member mentioned in the opening credits was Valerie Harper.

WKRP in Cincinnati also in the first season only had Gary Sandy and Gordon Jump in the beginning and all the others at the end.

What is funny is when the opening credits show the cast members perhaps in scenes from episodes and those actors names aren't in the opening: The Jeffersons (Marla Gibbs in year 3) and A Different World (Bumper Robinson and Patrick Y Malone in the last season) were like that

"Laverne & Shirley" only had Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams in its opening. For some reason, I want to believe that they later added the others, or at least Lenny and Squiggy, but I'm not so sure. It's been a long time since I saw the show (besides the first episode).

The MTM shows definitely came to mind first. "Phyllis" only had Cloris Leachman in its opening too. I can't remember if "The New Dick Van Dyke Show" had anybody else besides DVD and Hope Lange in its opening credits.

"Soap" had everybody credited during the end credits, like virtually every daytime soap. I don't think "Burns and Allen" did credits during the beginning either. But then again, I know that the show doesn't use its original opening sequence in syndication/reruns.

in the first season of HAPPY DAYS (before Gary Marshall unfortunately decided to add that annoying live audience and make it into "the Fonzie show", thereby ruining it) Donny Most and Henry Winkler were only listed in the end credits.

The supporting cast of Sanford and Son. Why they weren't in the main credits, especially after the 1st season is beyond me.

Not that I've seen, no. Just those two.

On Roseanne, they billed David, Mark, Nancy, Bev, and Leon as "Also Starring." They weren't in the main lineup with everybody else.

Gilligan's Island (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=39) - The Professor and Mary Ann weren't included in the first season intro.

Happy Days did that a lot. I can't name every person that was listed in the closing credits, but what comes to mind quickly is Erin Moran as Joanie Cunningham in the first season, Scott Baio as Chachi in some season(s) before he got the privelege of being billed in the opening credits. I think I remember that correctly.

GOMER PYLE: U.S.M.C. didn't list Roy Stuart in the opening credits; and later after he left and Ronnie Schell came back as Duke Slater; he also wasn't.

On the Andy Griffith Show many of the regular cast were listed at the end of the show like Betty Lynn who played Thelma Lou and Aneta Corsaut who played Helen Crump as well as many others.

Lenny and Sqiggy were finally added to the OC during the last season after Cindy Williams left the show.

Jenilee Harrison was not in the OC of TC during the 1980-1981 season even though she was in every episode once she joined the cast.

Family Affair only had Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot in the OC.

Lest we forget, only Robert Reed, Florence Henderson and Ann B. Davis were in the opening credits of The Brady Bunch. The kids were only in the closing credits.
