The NBA Draft is tomorrow June 28th. Who will be watching?

Me. With the Wolves picking #7, and with all the talk of Garnett being traded for another high pick, it's bound to be interesting to watch.

I expect a lot of trades to go down this year as like every year.

I'm a Portlander, so of course I'll be watching!! I'm hoping Portland picks Durant, but either way, this is very exciting for the City of Portland, and is a win win situation no matter who they pick.

I don't see why everyone thinks Oden will be so great. He kind of reminds me of Ben Wallace, not a offensive threat and can block shots and rebound

I saw him play quite a few times last season, and from what I saw, I feel somewhat the same way. I think he'll be better than Wallace, but I still think Durant would be the smarter choice. Whatever happens, I just hope this doesn't turn into another Bowie/Jordan situation. I think that's most Portlander's biggest worry concerning this draft.

Any Center that plays with their back to the basket all the time on the offensive end is never a threat on he offensive side of the ball. Shaq gets away with it because he was 7'1 and 380 pounds-lol

Are you insane??? All the great centers of the past and you say this nonsence???:crazy: Portland would be foolish to pass on Oden. They already have a nice young group of players and they need an anchor in the middle. Durant would be another forward on a team that has Aldrige and Randolf. Since 98-99 all of the NBA Champs have had a dominate center on their team with the exception of 03-04 Pistons. And yes Duncan is listed as a power forward but he plays the post like a center. Jordan won because he was Jordan. But during the time he was gone in 93-94 and 94-95 both teams in the finals had dominate centers. Olajuwan-Ewing. Then Olajuwan-O'Neal. In 88-89 and 89-90 Detroit won without a dominate center but before then it was L.A with Kareem or Boston with Parish or Phili with Malone. You always get the big man if he is there to take.

Try again. All of those players would get to the low post on almost every posession. All of those you named had turn around jumpers. Meaning they were posting up their defender with their backs to the basket then would turn and shot. Shaq tries to do this but he sucks as a shooter.



So you are telling me Olajuwon and Ewing never faced the basket in the low post? Especially hakee, that' why he is considered the best center in NBA history because he had so many moves

How do you face the basket in the low post?? The high post yes. But the low?? That's where you post your man up and try to get the best position you can. That's done by having your back to the basket and pushing your man back towards the basket. Once they recieve the ball they have the option of turning into their man and facing the basket or fading away.

That's what just said. Dreams two main moves where a jump hook to the center of the lane or a fade away to the baseline. Just to shake things up he would face up his defender and make them look like fools(See David Robinson in the 95 Western Conference Finals).

What in heavens name was Joakim Noah thinking with that bow tie? That was just...wooooow. :smash: Oh yeah and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that either Chicago trades him or he gets no minutes when the season starts.

I can't *believe* Phoenix traded the 24th pick for extra cash. Argh! Stupid, stupid, cheap owner. :mad:

WINNERS OF THE DRAFT
Blazers: They got some talent to but around brandon roy and Aldrige. Oden #1 was a great pick and they were very active in the draft. Also netting Channing Frye and I guess you could say getting Fransis was a good move lets see how roy and fransis turn out.

Sonics: Of course getting durant. I think it was a good move in trading Ray allen for the rights to Jeff Green. Seattle is in th rebuliding and is off to a great start. They need to get pretty active in the off season
