Ok, from what I hear Linda Lavin was the main problem backstage. I have a TV Guide from 1979(season 3) and they all said great things about Beth Howland (Including Linda) from what I gather she got along great with both Vic and Beth. Just not Polly or Diane.

Thats a shame that she couldn't get along with everyone. Wonder if there was alot of tension on the set?

Anyone who was a threat to Linda she did not get along with. She could not stand Polly Holliday especially when the show took off in the third season (the best one). Polly had Flo down to a science I laughed everytime she opened her mouth.

She did not get along well with Diane Ladd. Diane stated in an interview that her time on Alice was not pleasant and was hard on her.
