I thought we knew this already...

The conventional wisdom and belief among most natural practitioners has been that it does help (and that belief was typically shared at least somewhat by the broad base of the country if sales are any indication) - however the medical community in general has always downplayed claims of it's efficacy and there were some studies (the most recent ones until now) which found no benefit compared to placebo. This is the first well-done scientific study by the medical establishment that conclusively shows a benefit and that's why it's significant.
