Rosie met with TPIR Producers on Thursday and they insisted on keeping TPIR in Los Angeles. Rosie lives in New York, and is unwilling to move to LA. So even if she is offered the job, she will turn it down, because she does not want to move her family to LA.

Rosie just isn't right for the show anyway! Just look at her behavior on The View and you'll see what I mean. I would like to see Todd Newton get the job.

Los Angeles (E! Online) - The Price may be right, but the location is wrong for Rosie O'Donnell.

After meeting with the producers of the game show for a "nice lunch" last week, O'Donnell posted a video message on her Website Sunday, saying "it looks like it ain't gonna happen."

The problem apparently lies in O'Donnell's reluctance to relocate to Los Angeles where The Price Is Right is taped.

"Here's the thing. I don't really need a job. I'm in a weird position. I don't need the money," O'Donnell said in response to a fan's email questioning her unwillingness to move.

"I know you're not allowed to talk about money in America, but I'm just saying I don't," she continued. "So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence job just doesn't seem fair."

The former View cohost and her wife, Kelli, live outside Manhattan with their four kids: Parker, 12, Chelsea, 9, Blake, 7, and Vivi, 4.

"They all are in school, they have friends, we love their school, we love our community, our house, our life, our home," O'Donnell said. "If they were able to do [the show] in New York it would be a different story."

Speculation that O'Donnell would replace Bob Barker, who resigned as host this year after 35 years, began earlier this month, with the outspoken comic writing on her Website that she "sure would" accept the gig if it were offered.

Barker himself expressed confidence in O'Donnell's abilities to take over the show, saying at the Daytime Emmys that he had "no doubt" she could handle the job.

However, O'Donnell later backed away from her initial enthusiasm about the possibility of becoming the new host, admitting in a video message that she wasn't sure she was the right person for the Price.

"It would be good for me, but I don't know if it's right for them," she said.

Other hosts reportedly in contention for the Price gig include former E! personality Todd Newton (E! Online is a division of E! Networks), Mark Steines of Entertainment Tonight, John O'Hurley, George Hamilton and Drew Carey.

CBS and FremantleMedia have not commented on the show's future. The new season of The Price Is Right begins this fall.

With Price apparently out of the picture, O'Donnell seems to be in no hurry to line up additional prospective projects.

"i have no plans," she wrote on her Website.

Amen to that, Heidi! That would make a lot of sense, especially since Rosie was never game show hosting material to begin with.

Rosie Says She Won't Replace Bob Barker

NEW YORK (AP) - Rosie O'Donnell says she's out of the running to replace Bob Barker as host of "The Price Is Right." O'Donnell, a superfan of the CBS game show, said on her blog Friday that she had a "nice lunch" with the show's producers.

Barker, 83, retired earlier this month after 35 years with the show, which is filmed in Los Angeles.

Although O'Donnell has said she would love to fill Barker's shoes, the 45-year-old comedian has changed her mind.

"Well, here's the thing: I don't really need a job," O'Donnell says in a video (http://apnews.excite.com/article/20070625/D8Q026H00.html#) posted Sunday on her Web site. "I'm in a weird position. I don't need the money."

"So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence, you know, job ... it just doesn't seem fair."

O'Donnell lives in Nyack, N.Y., near New York City, with her partner, Kelli, and their four children. She recently left ABC's "The View" after a heated on-air squabble with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

"You know, if they were able to do it in New York, it would be a different story," O'Donnell says. "But it looks like it's - ain't gonna happen."

Barker told reporters at the Daytime Emmy Awards he had "no doubt" that O'Donnell would make a fine host for the show.

But Barker told The Associated Press last week he never meant to endorse any potential host and has no role in choosing his replacement. "The Price Is Right" is on hiatus until the new season starts in the fall.

I think she is an excellent talk show host. She won 3 or 4 Emmys for her talk show.

I may be in the minority in this forum, but I like the fact that she speaks her mind. She has an important voice that should be heard.

Well obviously your viewpoint is not shared by everyone, or she would not be considerd for a talk show.

I wish her nothing but the best, but people who harbor hate, will hate her regardless what she does.

I have little time for people who harbor hate.

I don't expect my viewpoint to be shared by everyone but you seem to have a problem with people disagreeing with yours. People who post on message boards will have mixed views about any subject you can think of. We might not always agree with each other but we try to be respectful of each other's opinions.

I will say this loud & clear for everyone to hear. She was never in the running to get the job. She was given a "courtesy meeting" with price producers (who by the way have nothing to do with the selection process). She was never a contender for this position. All the stuff she is saying on her website is a bunch of hogwash. Cbs & fremantle did not offer her a " substantial amount of money" to host the show. She did however demand the show be moved to the east coast & or allow for a schedule that would tape a months worth of shows in 4 days, which is not possible with that show. Rosie is a media attraction who will not be hosting price anytime this century!!!!

It's a riot the way Rosie is acting like it was her decision not to uproot her family, blah, blah, blah. She was never under consideration. The suits at TPIR are not going to trash up their show with her big mouth and rotten attitude. Someone with class will land the job, someone worthy of following in Bob Barker's footsteps.

Yeah, and Rosie is all sweetness and light. She's one of the most hateful screwballs going. All she does is bully people and spew insults and her crackpot conspiracy theories.
