I am stealing this from the Analyzer on the Fresh Prince board. I think its time for a True Hollywood Story about Family Matters. Here are some items I think they should explore and if you know anything I haven't heard, let me know. Please be specific if its actual factual information or just your speculation.
1. Why was Judy recasted? Valerie Jones only made it through one episode. Did her parents remove her or was it the producers call?
2. Did Jamie Foxworth and her parents raise any hell about the decreasing usage of her character? Did they suggest storylines for the character to blend in with the show? How was she notified of the decision and what really ultimately led to the decision?
3. What was the initial reaction of the cast when they realize that Urkel was going to be casted as a regular?
4. Why was the Rachel character kept despite her extended absences rather than writing her off to somewhere and leaving Richie under the care of Hariette and Carl?
5. Did Rosetta LeNoire have any regrets leaving Amen only to find out that she would be a supporting and then eventual reoccuring character on Family Matters? (for this since Rosetta passed in 2002, a cast member close to her would probably have to explain if they actually know)
6. Were any spinoffs proposed or suggested? Were pilots filmed and any reasoning (if they exist) for their rejection by ABC?
7. Was the cast ready to move on ABC cancelled it in 1997 or were they already aware of the move to CBS?
8. Was 'Deck the Malls' supposed to be the series finale as was the last episode where all the cast members appeared together and many were sent off without any explanation? (We all know how networks will request more episodes at the 11th hour)
9. Did CBS actually renew the show for a 10th season and backed out at the last minute as some have stated across the internet? Was there supposed to be a wedding of Steve and Laura in that season? Would it have been a full order or 13 episode season just to wrap up storylines?
10. What was really the point of recasting Hariette for just a few episodes? Did the producers think the series had some life left in it for future seasons? They could have wrote Hariette as visiting relatives or something?
11. What was the real reasons why JoMarie Payton's greivances were not address or if they were why did not like the comprises offered?
12. Did anyone else ever have any greivances with the pilots or storylines in the show?
13. Why was 3J introduced at a time we were seeing less of Richie? There were some episodes where he would have a storyline and we would see Richie for one scene if any.
14. Of course, we would have to ask about any backstage tension.
15. Why was the opening theme eventually dropped? Was it an ABC thing or producer item?
I'll have more later.
